C: Impeding other owners
Certain transactions made solely to impede other owners are not allowed. Tanking games for the sole purpose of denying another player's chances to make the playoffs is in violation of the game rules. In particular, cycling through players in free agency to put them on waivers and make them unavailable to other teams in your league is strictly prohibited, and is grounds for expulsion from the game.

No manager will make any roster moves (including waiver claims, trade proposals, etc.) whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other managers.

CBS
The second exception is abuse of the waivers process. This is when a team owner adds then drops a series of players, putting those players on waivers and making them inaccessible to other team owners. Such an action could result in forfeiture of points as well as that team owner being blocked from making any additional add/drops for the remainder of the season, and in some cases dismissal from the league as solely determined by CBSI.

I have to say and maybe I'm naive here, but that kind of post is ridiculous and I've never seen something like that on here before. Forget our league, that guy should be banned from the site for like two weeks or something.

The play that he made is not explicitly against the rules. He added a couple guys to his bench he thought his opponent might use. That is not the same as cycling through waivers to prevent a pick up. Still on the douchey side, but not terrible. If his opponent wanted one of those QBs, he had his chance on waivers.

That said, the response to Barilko was ridiculous.

I guess I interpret the rules differently.
If you don't need a QB and you add 3 to your roster (with no more games to play), to me that is impeding other owners.
Won't lose any sleep over it and though it would be impossible to follow up, I would love to be a fly on the wall and have this brought to the attention of the HOST site to see how they would rule on it.

Geez the Lion lose 3 straight to let the Packers take the division, that sucks. Seahawks aren't looking to good either. Hoping for a good game next weekend. :suds:

It is an 8 team league though. not like the options were thin.

I see little difference between that and adding a couple waiver RBs that probably won't be used. Again, a bit douchy, certainly frowned upon in MBBRL but also not something the host site would chastise somebody for.

in my league when it gets to the final anyone you add you must play or at least have the add to cover questionable starts but adding 3 qbs is beyond questionable

during the semis or quarters it is diff because you are adding to back up- cuff in case of injury for the following weeks

only exception is if you add a Tebow for bench morale

JMO, but when it is a money league, you have no clue how much someone needs the money... to do a potential douchey play is not a huge deal as long as it is legal... BUT there is a major difference if you are in a league with friends or not... With friends/family or whatever, you try not to be a douche because there is potentially more hurt in that outside of the league... But if all are strangers?? whose gonna judge???

any way we look at it their will always be two sides to the story
if the rules are laid out first than no issues
as you said as long as it is legal
