As do I. The game is fun to watch, but now all kids want to do growing up is jack up 3 pointers and they neglect the other skills necessary to be a good player.
It is painful to watch my son and my nephews games. These kids are 6, 7, 8 and they are airballing 3 pointers a couple dozen times a game:lol:

Not sure 7 year olds are ever going to be not painful to watch. Not like they are posting up at that age.

meh, i miss the days when players took pride in defense personally...

Yeah a lot of pride in getting to blow up guys as they drive the lane. Rambis and Laimbeer are more fun to watch play D than Draymond, Kawhi, Gobert, Giannis, Embiid, Beverley, George, etc? Not to me.

Yes, I get it. Throughout much of the 80s they scored a lot of points. Trouble is we were talking about the early 90s and into the 90s when teams began slowing the game down.

Today's game is basketball. any thug can stand in the lane and commit a hard foul. Not much skill to that.

I don't care how much you like defense a 72-68 playoff game is awful

They still had the dominating defensive players during that time, but they also had guys who literally ‘protected the rim’, by punishing anyone who wanted to drive to the basket.

Hell, Michael Jordan was a 10 time first team all-NBA defensive player.

That was the worst. Remember when they would back down the guy with their back to the basket for like ever, and the guy would check the others guy back with his forearm

And the slow stroll across halfcourt, before the 8 sec rule

It was sooooo boring, unnatural and just didn't flow...thankfully the NBA learned from it's pathetic mistakes
as opposed to the parade to the free throw line today because someone looked at a guy while he was shooting. The last 2 minutes of the game should not take as long to play as the first 3 quarters.

No doubt. They have pussified every major sport. That is why you see more offense.
Then you have coddled superstars in the NBA who cry to be traded and they join up with others to chase a ring.
I don’t even waste my time on the NBA now. I don’t watch the NBA anymore until the playoffs. It is a waste of time. My favorite is the players ‘resting’ on back to back games. Fans pay top dollar to see Lebron come to town and he sits out to ‘rest’

The league is soft right now.

I agree with this all tbh

Football i am more okay with it, because the injuries were so severe, and i like watching the top talent. NBA is less physical in the first place so all the sitting is pretty gay. A regular season game imo is a tough sell...

The problem i think is they play way too many games that just don't matter. Silver was talking about cutting down the # of games, not sure what happened with that...The reason Football is so exciting is because every game matters. In the NBA about 30-40 games end up not mattering....

They cut the number of games, players salaries are going down with it.

If you cut say, 30 games off — that’s 30 games worth of television money, 30 games of ad revenue, 15 games of ticket sales, 15 games of concession sales, etc.

72-68 with 1-2 brawls sounds awesome. Not great b-ball obviously but that wasn’t the norm. East conference maybe here and there but the Bulls scored 90+ plenty.

And Most straight males like myself like to watch big time defense including big time blocks from very talented centers back then and don’t like touch fouls called.

Touch fouls being called are for pussies. No b-ball player likes those.

Shutting down your opponent down has always been a part of the game of b-ball. If you don’t like it, watch or play horse

The nba changed when Arenas brought a gun to practice and Artest went batshit on an asshole fan. Ever since then IMO the refs are too involved and control the game. The one and dones are not mature enough to handle brawls, etc.

Delusional MJ fans..getting owned up in here and claim the opposite...classic.

I hated Jordan. He was one of my least favorite players ever. His HOF speech made me dislike him even more. He’s the best player to play the game.

Those low scoring, playoff intensity, battles were not bad at all. Lol shows some of you boys’ age.

Shit was brewing during the game/series and it got chippy.

Nba is way less chippy now and won’t let things even approach getting chippy

You boys know what chippy means?

@ChiefsLakers67

You remember the Alonzo LJ playoff game? Was it good or bad? Lol

I believe it was 1998 ECf?

Hell and on in to the Lakers with Shaq shortly after?

Lots of chippy then too. Shit Kobe was intense

All great playoff series with legit defense

@SJ76 has taken the "Be Like Mike" Ad campaign to literally.

Big tough guy types how he likes hard fouls on the internet. Him big man! Him like fights!

I like intensity, I like chippiness, and heck a rare fight is fun too. But 75-70 games are awful.
