I think I'd much rather have Brooklyn Cyclones manager Edgardo "Fonzie" Alfonzo managing the big club. Mickey Callaway seems clueless and ineffectual for the job.

Something needs to be done.

Also...I'm definitely not an ageist by any stretch whatsoever.....(I'm 63)...but how long are they gonna stick with 82 yr old Phil Regan as the pitching coach?? It's been a week since they dumped Dave Eiland...and things have gone from bad to worse.

The Mets selected right-hander Chris Mazza's contract from Triple-A Syracuse. He was 3-5 with a 3.59 ERA over 12 starts in the minors. RHP Walker Lockett was optioned to Syracuse and left-hander LHP Ryan O'Rourke was designated for assignment.


Next:

RHP Zack Wheeler (6-5, 4.69 ERA) starts for the Mets who will try to avoid a 4 game sweep on Thursday afternoon against RHP Aaron Nola (6-2, 4.55) and the Phillies.

What would be worse than getting swept in a 4 game series??
Being no hit in the series finale.

That's were the Mets were until the 6th inning today...because they now have 1 hit.
A lone single by Wheeler.

Wheeler also gave up a solo HR in the bottom 6th..to account for the only run in the game.

Phils lead 1-0, at the stretch.

He's now being relieved to begin the bottom 7th.
