The newly crowned 1st place Steelers 3-2-1 (lol) moved up in the standings without playing a game last week.

First up out of the bye is the rematch with the Browns. Odd that the infamous tie in week 1 @ CLE is why PIT is in 1st place. Only fitting I guess they can maintain their slim lead against CLE (2-4-1).

CLE has gone on to play 3 more OT games since week 1 and have lost all 3, so it's safe to say the probably want this one decided in 60 minutes.

CLE is 23rd OFC, and a very respectable 18th on DEF so this clearly is not the Browns of the last two seasons. PIT comes in ranked 5th OFC and 21st DEF.

Injuries...Morgan Burnett (groin) is reportedly still limited in practice so I don't expect to see him. DHB and LJ Fort (both ankles) are questionable. Adeniyi (hamstring/ IR to return) I think is eligible to return now...it'll be curious to see if he gets on the roster.

Outlook...PIT's OFC is playing considerably better since week 1 and the DEF seems to have caught it's second wind after 2 bad weeks. I like the Steelers to defend the home turf and get their 3rd win in a row.

27-17 PIT.

What say you?

A decisive loss this weekend could see deep coaching changes on the Browns.

Hue's seat is very hot.

Maybe the Steelers can ruin another Cleveland QB again, too.

That is the word on the street as they say.

Not sure what axing him mid season will do unless they plan on handling the reins to Haley long term, but I think Dorsey will still want his own hand picked HC next year.

This game I see the outcome very different.

Pittsburgh is now staying to get its swag back and want to begin to separate themselves from the rest of the north.
Maybe a bit of embarrassment still lingers from week one, who knows.

Key is getting pressure on Mayfield, and the offense owning the clock.

28 - 13 Steelers

As bad as the Browns are and have been for years now, we haven't won by more than 4 points in the last 4 meetings. 6-0-1 in the last 7 meetings. Last time we lost at home to the Browns was 2003, before that was 1999. I say this is a win for us but we will, like we always do, allow them to stay in the game until late.

My biggest fear in this game is Mayfield taking off out of the pocket and making some 1st downs running to extend drives...I'm not expecting him to light them up for 300+ via the air like Mahomes did. PIT will be highly motivated on both sides of the ball I think to remove all doubt about this game early.

I think it's a mismatch. The Steelers are rested after a bye, while the Browns have played more football than anyone. Plus, the Browns are on the road a second consecutive week. This is not a favorable match up for the Browns. I expect a blow out on Sunday.

Bye weeks don't always mean we are rested and will win. Looking at the games after the bye going back the last 4 years, we've lost by 3 to the Saints in 2014, lost by 9 to the Seahawks in 2015, lost by 7 to the Ravens in 2016 and won by 3 against the Colts in 2017. I think this all comes down to home-field advantage, a rivalry game and the fact that we need to avenge our tie to them in Week 1.

IDK about blow out, but I'm thinking they get after Mayfield and maybe they get a short field somewhere...2 possession game in the 4Q is what I'm hoping for but both OTs need to play better than they did in the 1.0 game.

Mayfield was able to sustain maybe 3 drives down in Tampa.

Offense... I’m hoping the Steelers stick with what has been working and feed Conner. O-line has been dominating but I heard they may be without Marcus Gilbert this week. Could be a huge problem on the right side with Emmanuel Ogbah playing like an animal recently.

Defense... Beating the dead horse, but we know what needs to be done. Keep up the pressure and do not fall back into shell zones. Mayfield is a much better QB than Taylor so keeping him contained and off balance will be key. The D-line needs Tuitt to show up once again like he finally did against Cincy. And please keep Artie off the field.

I’m hopeful for a better outing against Cleveland. The Steelers had something like 5 turnovers in week 1 so if they can play with better ball security then this game shouldn’t be close. Steelers should dominate the trenches with ease. And Cleveland seems to be reeling with a head coach in desperation mode.

Hilton might well be the best defender on the team at this point.

I was SCREAMING at the tv that that was a free kick. Stupid. Good job here by AB and Connor, however.
