bruce allen and gruden made it clear skins will be a defense and running team thats there focus this offseason i think they willl draft 6 defense 4 offense no order dl dl dl ilb ilb pass rush ... We need to walk away from FA with a NT and another starting ILB. Its really that simple and there is no reason it should not happen. Why Hankins, Minter or Hodges haven't visited is beyond me.

For the 1 millionth time, my fear has always been that the front office doesn't think we are as bad as we are. The NT is critical to the 3-4 and we have the worst starting ILBs in the NFL. That could all change very quickly.

You can't have the draft fix everything. I want to build through the draft like everyone else but the draft only provides about 30% starters and the player you want isn't always there. If we stop now then we MUST draft:
NT
ILB
RB
LG

and then pray they can start. That is not a wise path to take.

On the other hand, some years ago I started a thread here about firing Bruce Allen. It was met with a fairly unfriendly backlash, however, if you get a chance to influence or replace Bruce, I'm betting that you would have near unanimous backing today!

He operated on a prove it deal, threw for 4900 yards, and made the PB. He proved it and now the FO wants him to take last year's fair deal. Well, this isn't last year and a fair deal this year is about 24-25 million.

If you think a prove it deal means we make the playoffs...we had the 28th ranked defense and nobody below us made the playoffs. KC plays offense and we had the third most yards and 12th most points.

Thats not necessarily true. We had massive problems along the DLine last year and we passed until the 5th round because we use a BPA approach.

For all we know we could draft TE, LT, K and FB with our first 4 picks. Do I trust the FO to address our needs in the draft? Absolutely not...they haven't in the past and why would they start now?

To answer your question, yes, it can be addressed in the draft. However, statistically speaking, the draft produces 30% starters. I highly doubt we walk out of the draft with a starting ILB, NT, RB plus adding depth everywhere on the team.

Make no mistake - Haynesworth is not a dumbass. Yes - he is an a-hole & a POS, but he certainly was smart enough to find a way to screw the Redskins out of $40-50M with minimal effort.

If we made all the cuts that I suggested it would put us at 21-22m. So we still would have 10m left to sign draft picks. If Hankins wants 10mg give it to him. He is 25 years old.
