Many of the people I grew up around had parents who were rocket scientists.

I'm guessing those parents didn't graduate from an Alabama university.

That's actually what most of their fans/grads are known for.

Never asked.

But:

Alabama is ranked in the top10% for engineering.

54th overall for aerospace.

And overall, you are pretty retarded if you think such a school can't teach that kind of stuff. Which is why this thread is for you.

The liberal ones are what 95% of MI fans.

I think its more like 65-75%. 90% on campus maybe. Its annoying. But weve always been a blue state. That's changing now though.

Never have put much stock in the "our university is ranked #XX in the US!" because when you get right down to it, they're all institutions of higher education. Any differences are pretty negligible.

Public schools, sure. Go ahead and make fun of the south's overall SAT scores. Universities? Not the same thing.

I think we may have Saginaw too, but what do I know, I thought Michigan state was going to respectable last season.

Yeah. Saginaw is probably an MSU lean. And I don't think you were alone in the MSU thoughts last year. This year coming up though could be much of the same unfortunately.

Alabama ranks 105th in engineering programs for Public Universities. To be top 10% -- they'd have to be in the top 20.

Let's be honest -- Alabama is the pinnacle for college football right now, but they will never be known as an academic destination.

To be clear, I didn't say that "such a school can't teach that kind of stuff."

FYI. . .

Michigan is ranked #4 for aerospace engineering, and a total of 4 B1G schools are ranked in the top ten. See https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/aerospace-rankings.

Alabama is ranked #57 (2015) in aerospace engineering.

Michigan is ranked #6 for engineering in general, and 3 B1G schools are ranked in the top ten. See https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/eng-rankings.

Alabama ranks #105 in engineering in general.

Oh, so your original post was bullshit when you suggested the rocket scientists didn't go to Alabama.

We already knew.
