Minnesota was literally still trying to work out trades with other teams after LeBron signed. Minnesota had a say in all of this too.

You can call it crap all you want, doesn't change the fact that LeBron absolutely signed without assurance of Love being on the team.
and Kyrie signed before them ALL. lol

oh well, wat are you gonna do?

You seem clueless on both situations, but his actions cry of insecurity.
He's WAAAYYYY to worried about criticism.
Anyone with an ego doesn't like to be criticized and that includes most NBA players. What makes you an expert on insecurity? Do you have a doctorate in psychology or are you just talking out of your ass again.

its just more of his agenda against LeBron and the Cavs-- you just have to take it with a grain of salt.

somehow lebron asking for a backup point guard has blown up into something just crazy. lol......

that is the real measure of a super star- making a comment about getting a guy to play some REGULAR season minutes- all of a sudden becomes- HE IS WHINING ABOUT NEEDING ANOTHER STAR! lol.

For most of that summer, the rumored trade was KLove to Warriors for Klay.

Yup ... let's say he was facing adversity with his team down 3-1 in the NBA Finals. He would throw his teammates & coaches under the bus and just give up.

At least there isn't a "feud" between him and his All-Star teammates -- and his Hall of Fame coach writing really bad things about him in a book.

Shaq–Kobe feud - Wikipedia
Lets say he doesn't make passive aggressive comments about his former GM and he doesn't get his former coach fired & doesn't passive aggressively say his FO isn't willing to spend more money. Oh wait....he DID do those things.

Not sure how Kobe & Shaq got involved- I mean they have won back 2 back & 3 peat titles during their tenures. To their credit they didn't have a "super" team & were able to win with LESS than what LBJ has now.

Also, I'm sure LBJ would be the one writing the book about his team mates and/or coaches. All it would take is the right price tag.

I wouldn't. I also wouldn't be acting like a victim that I was being disrespected. Especially if I made around $200 mil in my career that spans around 14 years.
Especially when one is only a part-time player.

From 2013 ... ESPN article:

Whether you believe ESPN the Magazine’s Chris Broussard’s report that several Heat players, particularly James, have grown frustrated with coach Erik Spoelstra doesn’t really matter. James has already said as much repeatedly in recent days.

He complained about playing too many minutes, which required a meeting with Spoelstra. He said he doesn’t like playing point guard, which Spoelstra has asked him to do for much of the young season. And he maintained that, unlike in seasons past, he isn’t having fun.

On Monday there was another meeting between James and Spoelstra. This confab supposedly focused on the offense, where James and the Heat have been struggling, and not on the ESPN report of discord -- though it's fair to assume the topic came up.

Of course James isn’t totally happy. He’s given up money, a massive piece of his reputation, the freedom to walk freely around his hometown. He's also sacrificed shot attempts and his beloved statistics to be with the Heat. Yes, it's early in the process, but the results so far have been underwhelming.

There are only so many people to blame, and in the NBA the first fingers are usually pointed at the coach. Check back in a few weeks. There’s a chance the conversation will sound completely different, which is what Spoelstra is counting on.

Whatever the case, the Heat have encountered their first critical test with James.
Translation: He's a whiney b*$^%.

LeBron was stupid to bring it up publicly and even stupider for using it as an excuse for their poor play, BUT... the narrative of "oh look LeBron needs more help" is just as stupid.

The Cavs don't even have a full roster. They're 1 of like 3 teams in the entire league without a complete roster. They are sitting on empty roster spots and multiple exceptions. Anyone with a right mind knows the Cavs need to make a move or two. They would be stupid not to.
Honestly, they weren't tending to business last summer when they put all their eggs in the JR basket who held out as long as he possibly could because he wanted more money. Instead of trying to get quality guys during the summer- which was the time to be shopping- they let JR tie their hands (did LBJ have anything to do with that?) So they have themselves to blame for not having a full roster- and more importantly- for missing out on quality guys that might've helped their depth.

Yup. Watching our team grow. Makes winning titles more enjoyable after years like this. Because you remember where this team was at years prior with some of the role players still in the fold. Not saying we're winning a title in the next couple of years, more placing an emphasis on going through the growing pains.
I am just saying--- i do think its funny that Whitesides numbers are down considerably during this winning streak

out of the 8 game winning streak he sat out 1 game

during the other 7 games he is averaging- 11.5 pts, 10.7 boards, and 1.4 blocks on 50% shooting on 30 minutes a game....

those numbers are quite a bit off his season averages of 16.6pts, 13.7 boards, 2 blocks, and 55% shooting, 33 minutes a game.

looks like when it comes to whiteside "less" is more.

obviously you have no clue how roster construction works if you think waiting on JR Smith "tied their hands".

I agree with that. But I also think there is a difference between joining up with stars to try to start something new vs joining up with a team of stars that has already been tearing up the league.

For the record, I am totally fine with either one. Players should do what they want and they have a limited subset of opportunities to chose from. But I do think the perception of the two situations can be different for a lot of people.
Out of curiosity, what is the difference to you?

I know they didn't pursue other options. I know that JR held out until pre-season. I know they now have an incomplete roster- and I also know there isn't much on the market to choose from that would help them now.

I'm with @TurnUpTheHeat- I think he & Wade have come up with a plan to try to get Wade to Cle. We'll see what ends up happening. But we better get credit for calling it when it happens.

if Jr smith signed for the max or didnt get one single dollar and left the Cavs it would have ZERO to with the rest of their roster construction.

all they had to work with was the mid level exception- used to resign Jefferson, and veteran min. deals- i dont expect you to know this type of stuff because it would mean you actually know what you are talking about....

id love to hear how the Cavs not signing a guy to a min. level deal was effected by Jr smith....but again- you are simply ignorant to the rules of the game.

See, your challenge with comprehension really gets in your way. I never said anything about MONEY. I said if they had PURSUED OTHER OPTIONS- like looked for other/additional talent- instead of waiting on JR to sign they might have found other worthy players to fill out the roster.

This is a prime example of why I struggle with the belief that you will make a good lawyer. Your inability to take a moment to understand what people are telling you- coupled with your lack of comprehension- makes it difficult for you to empathize with others. That makes it hard for people to have a conversation with you most of the time.

Its like the difference between the guy that starts a successful company with his friends... and the guy that watches his friends start a successful company, and then joins with them.

The 2nd guy is probably never going to get as much credit as the 1st guy, even if he deserves it. At least not from the point of view of your average onlooker.
