its very very hard to tell that early if a guy is going to be a star- i totally agree with youIt is beyond me to determine who a star will be, 1, and 2 years out from a player's career. In some instances, it happens right away, but that doesn't mean that it applies to every player. Ingram is 19, and 190 pounds. He has shown promise, but I never expected him to jump right out of the gate as a star, especially given that the ball was never going to be in his hands on a regular basis. Russell, as I've said many times, is imo the most talented, but is inconsistent, and also injured at the moment. And as for Randle, he's light years ahead of comparison, which is Draymond Green at whatever Draymond was in his 2nd season.
hwoever- a lot of time- the best of the best you can tell right off the bat- --- thats my point....
there are definitely exceptions to the rule....but when you see a guy like an Embiid in his "rookie" year totally transform a team- you an say- DAMN- that guy is a "centerpiece" guy
Ingram and Russell certainly still have the potential and upside to be "centerpiece" guys- but neither one of them has jumped off the page wehre you have said--- DAMN- this guy is a multi-time all star and franchise changer.
there are AT LEAST 3-4 (if not more) guys in this upcoming draft that have the potential to be guys that just totally jump off the page where you say- DAMN- that guy is a franchise changer.
