Its not similar at all... John Carlos was an olympian when he did that in the 60's in the middle of the civil rights movement. Not a multi million dollar high paid athlete with a code of conduct that is expected to represent his team with class in return for 14 million dollars a year..

Extremely similar.

Whether you agree or not.

Not many bigger stages than the Limpics. Representing your country.

With heads bowed and black gloved fists raised.

Basically over the same "issues".

And on a much bigger stage.

It wasn't over the same issues. Those athletes werent multi millionaires raised by a white family.... They were black men in the 60's during the civil rights movement, less than a decade after a black woman was arrested and put in jail for not giving up her seat on a bus to white man.

Stop acting like these are the same issues. The primary focus of the issues raised by kaepernick and others is police killing of unarmed black people and how ever much some people don't like to admit it, it is a valid argument and concern. Its just the way he chose to protest, while in uniform and representing the 49ers that is the issue. Its not the message, its the messenger.

Its not similar based on the fact that kaepernick is paid millions of dollars to represent a company while in uniform. Whether you agree or not.

Same social issues.

Riding busses or being shot dead.

again, whether you agree or not it is similar.

You just don't like it which makes it so bad......

So fucking what? Carlos got a trip to represent the Excited States of America in the Limpics in Mexico.

And chose to raise a black gloved fist in protest. In front of the world.

Tell me how it's different.

Oh wow.... "he got a trip" to mexico. Give me a freaking break dude. Those olympic athletes were in the middle of the civil rights movement. They were fighting to end state sponsored racism in segregated schools, bathrooms, drinking fountains, and laws that would require a black person to be arrested for not standing and giving their seat to a white person who wanted it.

Kaepernick grew up comfortably in a middle class family and now makes millions of dollars. He has a shoe collection that takes three rooms to hold. HUGE DIFFERENCE! The issues, the people complaining, etc.... HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Thats all I was saying, if you don't agree.... ok.

So why the outrage over your drunken swimmer coming home in disgrace? If representing your country at the Limpics isn't bigger than some low key protest at an exhibition football game in your opinion, then I am at a loss.

You seem to be very hung up on the black white, rich poor thing. Like his opinion shouldn't matter?

Maybe Kaepernick has a point....

And once again, I'm no dude.....

Richard Sherman today:

"There is some depth and some truth into what he was doing. I think he could have picked a better platform and a better way to do it. But every day, they say athletes are so robotic and do everything by the book. And then when somebody takes a stand like that, he gets his head chopped off."

He also gets applauded. Both sort of come with the territory when you choose to protest in a visible way. By the looks of Harbaugh's latest tweet, he's probably getting his share of criticism as well.

Anybody think this might be Kaps way to get out of SF ?

Pretty dumb is that's the motive wrapped in the excuse of not standing

If I'm the Coach I give him his walking papers. Wrong attention directed at the team SF is trying to build

Just a thought

They should bring this marine to the next 49er's game and put him in close proximity to Kaepernick during the anthem. See how Kap looks then. How many vets like this man would LOVE to be able to stand for the anthem?

Shot Dead? By Who other Black People?

The fact you somehow think Black people are being "Shot Dead" while other are not makes you look Very Bad.

Almost 50% of all murders are committed by Black People. What about those Lives, What about those people being Shot Dead.

Oh ya, THAT does not fit the narrative you want to push.

Only to weak crybabies who need the crutch to justify their lack of intelligence and in most cases, lack of success....
Do any of these morons realize that many police officers are black and kill these black criminals as well as white ones ???....I guess they are prejudice against blacks also....
You didn't hear none of this crap out of Kap when he was flying high during his flash in a pan career, it's now that he knows he's getting ready to get cut that he starts with the, po po pitiful me routine, in the name of black people....He must be related to Al the creeper Sharpton, the biggest media whore alive....
If you're upset with the police force, you don't disrespect your country and the men that gave their life for its freedom....That is unless you need to play your desperate race card....Him and his reasoning are a disgraceful joke...
