Aren't scholarships at almost every school really for one year and renewed by the school? Isn't that why players on some teams ,who don't cut it, for what ever reason don't have their scholarship renewed ?

Because Chris Black handled his business like an adult.

Maurice Smith could stop being a little bitch and quit hiding behind his mother's prodigious coattails, but that isn't likely to happen either.

Handled his business like an adult? The dude asked for a release the week of the LSU game. He was granted a full release in December.

Maurice Smith who by all accounts is more talented than Black, wants to be treated the same. That's him wanting special treatment? Jesus Christ you gumps will defend anything.

As a Georgia fan, I don't have a problem with this, and it would be hypocritical if I did.

One of Kirby Smart's first moves as HC was block any UGA players from transferring to Miami to follow Mark Richt.

Essentially the same thing here.

Awww, if calling me butthurt is your only response to this then you already lost.

If bama fans wanted to remain sensible on this topic they'd shut up instead of calling Maurice Smith a snow flake because he wants to be treated in the same manor as someone with "less talent" that was granted a full release to attend an SEC east foe.

"If Bama Fans..." Did you think that up all yourself or did you read it someplace else and think it was smart? Let me clue you in, its wasnt smart at all.

Point one, the SEC rules state clearly that a school has the "right" to block any school they wish for a potential transfer from going to. This is a rule the SEC has and this University is following the rules of said Conference they happen to be KING of. Secondly, Bama fans dont have to do anything in this, because they are "fans" and not decision makers.

And lastly, come September when Bama is playing an "Mo" is watching yet another possible national title contending Alabama Crimson Tide make yet another run at a title, while he is sitting in a chair wishing he had been intelligent enough to take the right approach and not rock the boat with the "entitled" approach, who do you think he will be blaming in his heart of hearts? Thats right, he knows he played the wrong card and showed his true colors and Saban does not yield to the court of public opinion, because he makes the decisions surrounding this football team, not the media, not the fans and certainly not haters like yourself.

So to wrap this all up, my original post fits and you can take it or leave it.

I know right. Before landing that Alabama O-lineman, dude in black was their #1 target at tackle.

And this is a prime example of "I don't care if I come across as an asshole as long as we win" mentality that Nick Saban has that I hope Kirby Smart brings with him.

Love him or hate him, you can't argue with Saban's results.

I applaud you for saying this, and I think i might take some time soon and try to find the thread and see if "certain" posters were all up in that thread slamming Kirby.

Personally I would not have a problem if Saban let Mo go play for Kirby, but he has his reasons and he makes the call, so it will stand. I do think its funny the same cast of "whiners" have jumped on this like Nick is the only coach in history to ever do this.

Great Post Chewbaccer.

When it's Bama and Saban, people will always try to spin it to what they want to believe.

Really, I don't understand why fans of programs that aren't involved in this in any way would feel so strongly.

Stop hating, I know for a fact that kid has a ton of heart and never gives up no matter how bad things get. He's a Kansas Rudy and he will be great in garbage time when that other lineman needs to take a dump mid game.

Yawn...are you done with your misplaced moral outrage, so we can move on to more important off-season topics, like which cheerleaders are hotter or who has the best tailgate.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in the 13 pages here. Any truth to the report that Saban didn't so much "let" Chris black transfer to Missouri as the request was slipped in during LSU week and maybe not noticed? Probably too late with all the attention now but possible week before USC game maybe Saban and staff don't notice his request come and go.

Why Chris Black was allowed to leave Alabama and transfer to an SEC school

Let me explain something to you that you are not grasping.

This has nothing to do with what the rules state. I have not stated once that the rules were not followed here.
But you and 4D aren't grasping (actually you are but yet you are blindly defending your coach) that I'm not calling you out for rules but for saying a player wants special treatment when alls he wants is to be treated like the last recent transfer Saban released.

This is not him "rocking the boat" or coming up with an "entitled approach." This is him wanting to be treated fairly. But because your coach perceives him as better talent, he can't get a release.

It's Saban being a dick and anyone not wearing Crimson a cream can see that. You know exactly what I'm talking bout as does your butt buddy mr Arizona.

It's not even remotely the same thing. How many people did Kirby smart let transfer to Miami?

It's not as if Saban has blocked everyone from joining other SEC teams, just more talented folks.

That's all you have?? LOL

With a response like that, one can deduce that I was the one in the right here. No but please, keep blindly defending Saban while you cite what the rules are as if someone is arguing that.
