Nick Gates agrees to deal with Washington
Offensive lineman Nick Gates is set to leave the Giants, but he'll be staying in the NFC East.

Looks like Roullier will be gone.

you think he starts? It’s possible if Roullier gets released. Do we know anything about Roullier's injury? is he healthy now? I was leaning towards Gates being the backup Center/OG like the role of Wes.
Are we improving this team or placing other teams' rejects into ours? Moving around pieces on the chess board doesn't necessarily mean you know what you are doing or are winning. I question this signing.
Perhaps he is and at a decent price.Been seeing that Gates is more of a Schweitzer replacement. Could be wrong.
Just an analogy meaning, their teams did not want them. I suppose we either cut or restructure Roullier and let them battle it out to see who starts. Gates could be our new Wes. We shall see i guess.what makes Gates a reject? He started all 16 games in 2020 for NY and the first two in 2021 before getting injured. Gates came back in 2022 to start the final 8 games and 2 in the playoffs. Barkley has been very successful behind Gates.
Wylie has been a pretty consistent starter since 2018 for KC and Eric Bienemy.

Huh? They wouldn't be in WASH if their previous team wanted them. I get it, salary cap, playing time etc. but other than Wylie (EB signing for those who think he has no pull) we signed border line starters and backups. We don’t know if their old team wanted them or not.
Gates could be the new Wes or the replacement for Roullier. I have heard nothing from Chase.

Defensively EdmondsI am not sure you do get it. The salary cap exists. Teams have to be under it. Maybe their old team didn’t make the players happy. Maybe they decided to follow the coach they liked to the new team.
So who would you have liked us to sign?
Defensively Edmonds
Offensively Powers
On to the draft
We also have to remember new owner and escrow before these big signings take placeWell Tremaine Edwards received a 4 year, 72 million contract with 50 in guarantees.
Powers went 4 years, 52 million, 28.5 mil guaranteed.
That is 31 million per year on non-premium positions.
I wanted Andre Dillard (3 years, 29 million) and Nate Davis (3 years, 30 million). We made good upside signings with little risk. This is the correct way to attack free agency unless you are going for absolute sure things.
