Part of this is on Banister. I get that they're exhausted and that their pitching has been just awful lately, but this has officially advanced into unprofessional territory. They're not ready to play at all. They didn't show up. Pitching, fielding, hitting... all absolutely embarrassing. They are totally checked out.

I can take losing. You can't win them all, and every team is going to experience rough patches. But this isn't just a rough patch. They are getting humiliated on a nightly basis, to the point that they don't even resemble a major league team.

They will eventually bounce back, but this level of unprofessionalism is inexcusable.

to me it has come down to the position players having lost total faith in their pitching staff. they come out there and watch the pitching almost immediately give up multiple runs

It sucks, but they did exactly what we thought they'd do. They limped into the break fine. We're here with a 6 game lead. Anyone who would've not pushed that button at the beginning of the season if given the opportunity? I'd imagine not. Let's just settle down. The guys will rest and regroup.

37 games in 38 days is brutal. Soak up the rest and know that you won't have that many games in as many days going forward.

i don't think anyone thought it would be this bad. The team got prison raped 3 times. This series was so bad that I think their will be a " hang over". Hopefully the ASB helps this team.

Exactly. And keep in mind, they shit the bed down the stretch here out of division. Every team deals with injuries. We actually didn't pick a bad time to deal with ours. If we'd done this during a stretch where we played the Mariners and Astros a couple times in a two week stretch I'd be anxious. I'm not anxious. I reminded many in here to remember that dominating stretch when this team slumps, because they will. Well, the schedule caught up to them. Fine. Rest and come back ready to kick some ass.

Could be Banister was using the pen in June like it was late August or early September. Pretty obvious the team is out of gas physically and mentally. Will 4 days be enough to recoup the pen and rotation? Don't know that answer. We will find out on Friday.

I know the front end of the pen will continue to produce. Batting? We are still scoring runs even though the middle of the order is slumping. Main concern is the middle and long pen. No consistency there except Tony. Need help there and soon. Not coming from our farm.

They are professionals but know what you are saying. It can be demoralizing. That is where leadership comes in.
