I just wonder if Texas stays hot and Cubs lose a couple of games allowing Texas to take over the best record in the majors...will ESPN still find a way to say we are only the 4th best team?

I know, it doesn't matter. Just stupid that you can have the hottest team with the 2nd best record listed as the 4th best team. And the knock against us is that we keep winning close games. WTF is wrong with that, better than losing close games.

The Royals were doing the same thing in 2014 & 2015, come from behind wins and one run games. They got no respect until reaching the series in 2014 and in 2015 ESPN finally realized that team was for real only after the ASB.

Oh if you are referring to the power rankings ESPN does weekly, then perhaps Fielder's Mendoza line BA has something to do with skewing the team overall numbers.

Andrew Miller is right behind him in K-Rate and his other numbers are even better, 16.74 to 16.69, plus his WHIP .67 and ERA is 1.21, 3 of his 4 ERs have come from solo HRs

If we go for a Chapman or Miller I'm sure the Yankees will want a Profar or Mazara or another high ML prospect.

The Yankees are sitting at ~.500 so will hold their cards close until the last week of July.

I'm interested to see what we do with Profar. You know everyone that takes a call is going to ask for him because they feel he is expendable. I hope we keep him. Let him have time in AAA if he needs more at bats. But injuries will happen in the Texas heat, and 1 day off a week for each position would be nice too, so he might just stay in the majors.

I hope JD just hangs up the phone on anyone asking for Mazara. There is no one I want bad enough to even give the courtesy of staying on a phone call with them. I know most trade deadline BP arms are more seasoned guys and usually someone whose stats are underwhelming until they get here. But I'd love to make a call on a younger arm like Will Smith in MKE or see if AJ can throw us some help from Sandiego.

Miller is controllable, Chapman is a couple month rental. Not that I want to give up much for either

No desire to go after any of those guys, there was just a discussion about numbers

There are some expendable ML pieces out there, but the top 10 needs to be left alone, there's also a handful of guys in the top 30 that need to be left in the system

Probably. BSPN is incredibly biased towards the Rangers, of that I am thoroughly convinced.

That's alright. It'll make winning the World Series just that much sweeter.

If your going to keep Fieldee in the lineup, he has zero business hitting fourth. :L

Called it.

You did. A long shot he will come up other than a lefty-lefty situation. But you never know how he will respond coming back to the team where he had his come back.
