I wish Texas' pen had the numbers that the Cubs pen does...Texas would be 25 games over right now.

Think about how many games Tolley alone has fucked up. Without even mentioning willy, Claudio, and Kirkman.......
I threw Kirkman in there because of his past contributions. I know he hasn't pitched for the team this year.

I know everyone always wants more, but hope everyone is enjoying the hell out of this ride. Rangers aren't just winning, they are winning with style lately. It's a lot more difficult to fight back late in a game or fight to win a 1-0 game than it is to just go out and try to win 8-5.

I'm afraid my kid is going to be spoiled. He's only seen a couple of Rangers losses in the last few weeks. If this streak keeps up then he might be our little good luck charm :)

The streak will end and then Texas will have to just to stay healthy and play smart baseball
from here til October. There is a whole 3 months left for things to change dramatically a few times. Just need to win around 15 games a month the next 3 months or so.

Yeah that too. Wonder if those people in Cleveland that burned their Lebron jerseys are regretting that move?

They reconciled years ago.... just like the fans in Arlington with Hamilton.

Is that really true? I know the story about our bullpen, but the Cubs have only given up 193 runs. The next highest team is the Mets at 233. You'd think teams would be scoring more runs on the Cubs if their bullpen was bad.

I wish Texas' pen had the numbers that the Cubs pen does...Texas would be 25 games over right now.

Well shit, maybe not. I know Cubs fans complain about their bullpen, but looking at the stats, yeah, they're pretty stout.

This team seems to have a lot of confidence when behind late in games lately.

They probably complain bc its the "weak" link on their team

They seem to have decent guys for the late innings in Strop, and Rondon, but they are looking to upgrade. Cahill has been good for the most part. Richard has been bad in his 12 innings, sporting an era over 7.5. Warren and Grimm in their 25 innings are 4.56 and 4.51 respectfully, and seem to struggle as some off our middle guys do.

The broadcast last night was going on and on about how they should looking for a true 9th inning guy. Their team ERA is 2.66 mostly because their starters are posting like a 2.23 ERA or something, that is precisely why they have the lowest runs against in MLB as NC pointed out, but as you say their BP seems to be their weak link. They haven't been nearly as bad as ours however. I was incorrect with my statement about being almost as bad as ours. They haven't been quite that bad

Their BP ERA is 3.51, 10th best in the majors, ours is 4.67, 3rd worst in the majors

They're solid but they certainly could use an upgrade out there... funny enough... they've had 4 former Rangers in their pen (Strop, Grimm, Patton, Ramirez)

Betances' numbers are STUPID good...his K rate is that of a video game. He's had some back luck so the ERA is higher, but damn his periphs are are sexy.

Andrew Miller is right behind him in K-Rate and his other numbers are even better, 16.74 to 16.69, plus his WHIP .67 and ERA is 1.21, 3 of his 4 ERs have come from solo HRs

It will take some doing to keep this consecutive series win streak alive. We will have to win our next 3 to get past Wednesday with the streak still intact.

Statistically, the Cubs bullpen is one of the best, if not the best, in the NL. As far as the stats I was looking at this morning go.

Rangers 23-6 since the Oakland sweep. That is some great baseball. But of course its an even numbered year so the Giants are doing their thing again going 27-8 over their last 35 and stealing some of the Rangers thunder. Their rotation is sick. I hate the Giants.

Giants, Cubs, Nationals, and Mets are going to beat the crap out of each other in NL playoffs.

When you look at the Giants SP to begin the season there is no way you could see this coming.

I think you could expect good/solid number numbers from MadBum, Cueto and Samardzija going into the season, and they've met/exceeded expectationsto an extent

Peavy & Cain have been a dumpster fire in the 4 & 5 spot, and that was probably to be expcted

Just gotta keep him fresh. We need Kela back, Tolly to get his head out, and another solid BP arm and we will be just great.

I just wonder if Texas stays hot and Cubs lose a couple of games allowing Texas to take over the best record in the majors...will ESPN still find a way to say we are only the 4th best team?

I know, it doesn't matter. Just stupid that you can have the hottest team with the 2nd best record listed as the 4th best team. And the knock against us is that we keep winning close games. WTF is wrong with that, better than losing close games.
