And yet, your profile indicates you're a fan of the Cowboys, Patriots, and Canadiens, who happen to play in the sports with hard caps.

And I wish they didn't have to.

The Canadiens are already at the mercy of the Canuck Buck and high taxes. Hard to believe they will ever be relevant again....

You have to have caps. The Packers would pretty much be over. Not only that the Seahawks starting team would be:

QB R. Wilson
RB Adrian Peterson
WR Dez Bryant
WR Odell B Jr.
TE Gronk

DE Aaron Donald
DE JJ Watt
LB Von Miller
LB Kahlil Mack
CB J Norman

Lots of great players out there, they couldn't have them all forever.

And maybe they'd get them when they are already past their prime?

I think the Pack would survive. Cause they are competitive.

The Browns on the other hand.....

I think fans have also spoken in the sense of the NFL being now the most popular sport in America. Baseball on the other hand is struggling some to sell tickets and tv viewing seems to be steadily decreasing. Not saying the Cap is the only reason for either of those things but I do think fans love the idea that my bottom feeding team could quickly recover. I mean Broncos went from 4-12 in 2010 to 2 Super Bowls over the past 5 seasons. I love that my team can stand a chance of doing that even with an owner in the bottom 10 of actual net value.

This.. I hope that the Eagles will have the same success? Chip put us back 2-3 years imo. We shall see.

Exactly. This is why fans of even the worst team keep sticking it out year after year in the hopes that the team just all of a sudden clicks and has a great 10 year run. If Wentz pans out that is what the Eagles will have most likely. That is what makes this so great in we just don't know. I'm hoping the same thing with our new QB that he pans out and the Broncos just keep on rolling.

Read my lips.

It's artificial, I like dynasties and I don't like to see different teams winning every year.

I've said all somewhere here before this...

And again, I don't have to justify. I just hate caps.

Yep, and I still haven't seen a good reason beyond that you hate it. Where's the dynasties lately in baseball and basketball? It's 'artificial' is pretty meh too. Even in a capless world, there's still going to be rules about how teams conduct bizness, and that's 'artificial' too.

See whole lotta same suspects in there, but not a lot of 'dynasties.' Yankees would be the closest I guess. They've been far short of that since '09 though. 5 in 25 years.

I'm asking about expanded rosters and a higher cap to accommodate the additional players would be in play.
Why wouldn't it be? That would be collectively bargained.

yep...I nailed your intensions with your first reply.
some here just gotta squat to pee

I have no idea what this means, I suspect it's some attempt at more PA humour.

Baseball works differently on a fundamental level. Yes, there's an obvious payroll advantage the Yankees have, but there aren't teams like the Colts who can just push an easy button at the QB position, one single position, and make the playoffs virtually every year unquestionably either. Mike Trout won't save the shitty Angels any time soon for instance.

And how the heck would no cap help that situation out, even a little bit? Answer: it wouldn't, it would make it faaar worse.

Oh I know he has the money, just don't know if he's willing to spend it on the NFL.

As much as Paul Allen loves his Blazers, he knows without a cap he has a better chance of winning a title with the Seahawks. I think he would fork out the money for the proper player needed.

Yeah well I hate it and those are my reasons.

You don't like them?

I can live with that.

Not my problem. And to paraphrase your words, I never said it would.

Kill all caps.

I have to give this a C grade and I really question what the F is going on in Philly...

Fletcher is a very good DT, but he can be game planned around. Spending this much money on a non QB who is not a 'WTF' factor is borderline insane.

Cap went up 12 mil this year I believe. Supposed to go up another 15 next year. Can we stop pretending to be shocked and/or disappointed when players get huge deals? At least the Eagles are paying for a player they know can produce for them. If they were to let him walk and bring some high priced free agents with the savings, odds are they wouldn't work out.

I dont think he can be game planned around like Donald, Watt and others. The reason you see Cowboy fans on this thread all giving Cox props is because he dominates against them and they have the best OLine in the league. Teams get soooo much better when there is someone to game plan around because it frees up all the other guys. I'm sure every team in the league game planned Aaron Donald and he still wrecked ish.

They would get them ALL once they hit FA after 4 or 5 years. And the Pack woud be the first one down the shitter. They are competitive now, but in an uncapped NFL, once Rodger's was a FA the Hawks would give him $350,000,000+

AN uncapped NFL would DIRECTLY and IMMEDIATELY kill the Packers and that would be heart breaking.

Weren't the Packers competitive before the salary cap was around?
