I heard he blew the networks away in interviews. Great personality and can break the game down to a simplistic level

I wonder if Romo doesn't transition into coaching some day. Maybe after he has had some time to recharge, he could eventually become part of Garrett's staff? I think he would make a great QB coach to start, and Offensive Co. down the line.

Part of the reason the Broncos were at the top of his teams he was considering is he eventually wants to take on the Elway role of running a team. He wanted to come and learn for a year or two of what all that takes. Now looking more like he takes the John Lynch path possibly.

No way IMO. He could be a QB coach tomorrow, lead analyst at CBS is a 7 figure gig that gives him tons of free time. No way he goes back to 80 hour work weeks for a paycut

JMO but, I don't think money is a determining factor in anything Romo does going forward. He has gone on record many times saying it isn't about money anymore. Tony loves football, that's clear - he may want to be a part of it again someday once he has had a chance to live his family life some?

How many games does Romo call before people start complaining about him?

Tony Romo is boring as fuck. I mean he seems nice and all but why the want for him as a TV guy??

Maybe that's a good thing? I frankly hate announcers that act like complete overhyped douche nozzles during game time or in pre game (looking at Irvin, Sapp, Gruden, etc.). I'd rather just listen to someone calm, perhaps boring, and not constantly a) acting like they are the end all be all of NFL analysis, and b) not constantly laughing at their own jokes or acting like a moron on the air.

Best announcers all do radio.

TV guys never seem to understand I saw it already. Prolly cuz most of em are essentially amateurs thrown into high profile slots. Never have understood why the networks do that shit.

Apparently NFLTR has a blurb saying Romo thinks it's Texans or retirement. I approve mildly. Would prefer the Raiders being the lone serious threat at the division for now.

Except the FO totally pissed me off and didn't address the defense in FA. We added offense, which wasn't an issue, and neglected to add some defensive studs.

I thought this thread would be something I missed and be about him actually playing football.

And they are correct

They've made the playoffs the past 2 seasons despite mediocre QB play. I wouldn't give up anything for Romo if i were Houston either. They clearly don't need him. Given his injury history, he's not worth giving up anything for when everyone knows he will eventually be released.

A 5th or 6th rounder is relatively very little risk to give up for a player like Romo. The main reason they may want to have Dallas release him is that contract. They can sign him to be a more team friendly one once he's a FA.

Not many elite players want to get into coaching.....it's usually the fringe players who do.

Quite a few of them are just bad coaches as well. Not all that easy to teach if you're just a freak of nature who didn't really have to learn certain things per se.

Patience grasshopper. Cooper, Carr, and Mack are all massive contracts. Could easily be 60M AAV between the three of them.

Patience my ass....we lost a LB. And we had to outscore teams to win fucking games. We need to upgrade the defense.

That's a fair point
