The Fins trade up to #86 pick WR L Carroo. There is no question that he has talent and proven production. He had 10 TDs in each of his last two years. It is a costly pick because the Fins gave up their compensatory picks (3rd and 4th round for next year & 6th for this year) Carroo has starter level talent though. I think he'll compete with Stills for snaps as a third WR and the Fins should be set for depth at WR going forward. Carroo contributes also on special teams. Hopefully, he stays out of trouble because the Fins are putting lots of confidence in him. I think Carroo will fill the void of R Matthews leaving the team.

At first I didn't like this trade. But you say they gave up comp picks in 3rd and 4th next year. So that means they still have the "regular" picks in 3rd and 4th next year?

I think the comp picks are untrade-able. And they haven't been awarded yet.

Some say it was a steep cost, but the only reason Miami makes the move is because they have a high grade on Carroo. So, I'm fine with it.

The Fins must have traded their regular picks. They know they will receive 2 compensatory picks next year.

The Fins seldom get "comp" picks. Every year the Pats get more comp picks than most other teams. This year the Pats have 4 comp picks. It seems like a weird process because the league is supposed to be about parity yet the better teams that lose players keep restocking draft picks each year??

RE Carroo: I think he's a solid player & could be a starter if given the opportunity. To get a starter in the 3rd round isn't a bad thing. That said Parker & Landry will be productive starters unless they get injured. Carroo at best this year will be an excellent 3rd WR and special teams ace.

What do we have to do to get rid of this New England clown?

They had high grade on; Ginn, Jordan, Martin, Thomas, etc. I think they gave up too much for him, JMO

Some thoughts on the draft picks:

Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss Probably the best LT in the draft. He's willing to play OG. The coaches will decide.
Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor He gets a lots of interceptions and pass breakups
Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama He could resemble what Miller contributed with his speed.
Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers He can play inside or outside WR spots, very productive in college
Jakeem Grant, WR, Texas Tech I think he wins the kickoff returner spot, could be used in spots for the offense, very fast
Jordan Lucas, S, Penn State Versatile DB that could play safety or CB
Brandon Doughty, QB, Western Kentucky Most productive QB last year in yards & percentage He underwhelmed in the 40 (so did Brady) I'd give him a year to develop & see what happens
Thomas Duarte, TE, UCLA He had 10 TD's & lots of yards

Good job I don't mind what they've done and they'll fill some holes with undrafted players and cuts. Surprised with two WR's but I guess they wanted them...

I heard that Carroo was the 2nd highest rated WR on the Fins board. He sounds kinda like Landry the more I learn about him. He has very few drops. He also puts in a lot of work to get better. He seems very competitive. If he is close to the talent of Landry wouldn't that be ridiculous to have two players like that along with Parker? Stills will need to step it up this year. He didn't make much of an impact last year. I think injuries could have been a factor. Grant brings value as a kick returner. Landry will be able to focus more on being a Pro Bowl level WR without so many (if any) snaps on special teams. Duarte is a pass catching TE that is built like a big WR, He was productive too. It will be interesting seeing how Gase chooses to use these guys.

For the most part the Fins drafted for need. I was surprised with all the receivers picked too but the Fins offense needs to put more points on the board to win.

True and face it the offense didn't produce which hurt the D.

Tunsil hasn't failed a drug test. He could have changed.

Too many times the defense would barely get comfortable on the bench and they would have to go back on the field. I think that the offense will be better this year. The team needs to learn the system. Other than that I don't see why this group of players can't score more points. The Fins are stacked at WR & OL. Ajayi & Drake have the talent to get it done.

I think the Fins underachieved at TE. Sims got hurt early last year & just didn't seem himself. Sims is a complete TE when he's playing well. He can block well & he also make plays in the passing game. I thought Cameron would be better. The talent is there. I think we'll see more production out of these guys this year.

RE the TE position: I should also add Duarte into the mix. His not a big player at 6'2 231lbs. The concern is his ability to block as a TE at his size. He made an interesting comparison in a recent interview. Jordan Reed. Reed was 6'2 236 lbs at the combine in 2013. He had a huge year in 2015 with 11 TDs. It shows it is possible that a tweener player like Duarte might be a contributor at the next level. Duarte was afterall a top performer at the combine in every category except the bench press.

This is what fans forget the D can't do it all alone they need support from the offense. Eventually they buckle plus the coaching was horrible. Either way I’m sure that they'll focus more on the D in next years draft when they know what they have.

Caroo is definitely confident nice to see.

PFF gave them the best offseason in the AFCE A- draft. Nice to see.

Thanks for the info I'm glad that they took a flyer on him. I'm sure that we'll see more two TE sets especially in the end zone. Should help the efficiency.

Tunsil either is the tackle everybody hoped for - or he isn't. Big disappointment if he has to play guard for any time.
I like the QB pick. cheap flyer on a guy with a high ceiling. backup at worst.
Carroo should be a fine receiver.
Xavien Howard was a reach but he looks like he can cover.....

The Fins have two very good starting OT's. Albert at LT & James at RT. Tunsil is the LT of the future. If Tunsil plays LG a lot this year that means that the Fins are healthy at OT. Lack of depth at OT was a problem for the Fins last year. The Fins Oline will be much improved at the tackle & guard positions.

RE Xavien Howard: Vance Joseph has a plan for the type of defense he wants to run. Howard is that type of CB. He's a big, strong, ball hawk. The Fins have a few CB's that can play that style of defense.

I think most would agree that the Fins had a good draft.
