Toledo Drew is in.

And on that note, I'm done watching.

Interesting you said that .... immediately after the game, Verhagen was indeed sent to Toledo. (They may have walked him straight to a waiting bus after his outing.) Buck Farmer is back up with the big boys.

Iggy got all of that one.

Ball must have went Atleast 150 feet in the air.

Important single ... kept the inning alive for Vmart's home run.

Hey I have a question, do you consider K-Rod a Hall of Famer?

Very soon, he will be one of only 6 pitchers with 400+ career saves, and he still holds the single-season record (62). Interesting that none of the others with 400+ are in the HoF yet, though as broncosmitty mentioned, Rivera is a lock and I think Hoffman will eventually get in. Perhaps Billy Wagner, too. K-Rod's career ERA (2.71) is lower than Hoffman's (2.87), though it will likely climb as he pitches into his later 30s.

I have even less faith in Farmer.

Which is really saying something. The New Mexico treatment for Buck as well.

(I stole "Toledo Drew" from iffy.)

I know. I was just noting your impeccable timing.

Farmer at least misses a few bats. Biggest problem with Verhagen is too many balls in play.

STARTING PITCHERS
Detroit Tigers
Mike Pelfrey (0-4, 5.49 ERA)

Philadelphia Phillies
Vince Velasquez (5-1, 2.42 ERA)

Tonight's pitching matchup, at least on paper, appears to be a tough one for the Tigers. Vince Velasquez is eighth in the National League in ERA (2.42) and has a nifty 0.99 WHIP. He's 10th in the National League with 59 strikeouts. Mike Pelfrey, while he's pitched better in recent outings, is still searching for his first win as a Tiger. Both are right-handers.

Pelfrey is due for a win, and Velasquez is due for a clunker. Positive thinking, right?

:hope:

Buck Farmer...still looking for his first major league win....currently 0-5 with lifetime 7.29 ERA. Last good season was 2014 with the W. Michigan WhiteCaps.

But.... 0-0, 2.16 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 10 Ks in 8.1 IP this season. Again, positive thinking.

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Knee injury not a major concern

Cabrera (knee) is not expected to be dealing with a long-term ailment, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports. Cabrera was forced out of Sunday's game early due to what was later revealed as a left knee contusion. According to manager Brad Ausmus, Cabrera "got hit right in the nerve and it sent pain down his leg." This explains Cabrera's need to exit the game, but is also in line with the assertion that this is not a long-term concern. That being said, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Cabrera get a precautionary maintenance day.

Three guys in a row crush Velasquez and DC decides to send one of the slowest men in baseball.

Victor should never even attempt to score from first.
