Rangers' Sam Dyson: Earns second save Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
Dyson pitched a perfect ninth inning to collect his second save of the season Sunday against the Blue Jays.

After Shawn Tolleson blew saves in consecutive outings, it was no surprise that Dyson found himself on the mound in a save situation. He was given a one-run lead, and was able to close out the contest without a hint of drama. Despite the save opportunity, he's been an excellent setup man, as he has 10 holds along with a 1.89 ERA.

It should be no surprise. Banny was waiting, IMO, for the right situation to make the change. Hope this is permanent.

Rangers' Derek Holland: Takes tough loss against Athletics
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Holland (3-3) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk with one strikeout over six innings in a loss Monday against the Athletics.

Holland threw 60 strikes out of 90 pitches as he pounded the strike zone. He induced just one swinging strike, though, as he continues to struggle to find strikeouts. Holland has just 21 in 40 innings, a 4.7 K/9 that is more than a full strikeout below his previous career low. He managed to make it work despite drawing just seven ground balls in 19 balls in play, but his inability to miss bats is the main reason why Holland owns a 5.63 ERA even after Tuesday's quality start.

That's horrible.

Deshields will probably not get back up here to play CF this year. Profar needs a game or two at 2B to get ready to replace Roogie.

The shame will be if Bautista doesn't get the same thing and I don't think he will.

why in the everloving hell would the Cubs need Joe Nathan?!?

It's a roll the dice low cost move. They put him on the 60day DL to finish out his rehab with a professional team as he was rehabbing on his own. Come late summer or fall if he is good for a right on right match up or to eat an inning, they have a vet with playoff experience. If it does not pan out, oh well. Sometimes veteran retreads work out for a few months at the end of the season.

they have a .750 winning %. whatever they currently have already, it's working like gangbusters.

He won't and I think it was Heymen or the ESPN talking heads who believe none of the multiple Jays thrown out of the game will get a suspension. The BJ skipper might get fined or suspended a few days for coming back out after being ejected.

At this point I don't even care. That clip of Bautista getting the shit knocked out of him will live forever, and his reputation as an unliked player has been brought to the forefront. Worth it.

Odor gets 8 games. Probably gets knocked down to 6 or so with an appeal. Bet Profar gets called up.

He will and I hope he plays so well that we can't wait to see him back up at some point.

Report: MLB suspends Rangers' Rougned Odor 8 games for Bautista fight
The Texas second baseman, as expected, was disciplined for punching Jose Bautista on Sunday

Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor has been suspended for eight games as a consequence of his central role in Sunday's brawl with Jose Bautista and the Blue Jays, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Odor will appeal, according to Heyman, which may lead to his suspension being reduced. Per the collective bargaining agreement, Odor would be allowed to continue playing while his appeal was pending. As previously noted, Odor expressed no regrets about punching Bautista and said he expected to be suspended for it.

Here's a look back at the brawl in question:

Odor, 22, is batting .278/.305/.487 in 164 plate appearances this season.

Considering the breadth of the brawl and the number of participants, additional suspensions may be forthcoming. Odor's, however, will surely be the longest.

The last part is the part that is total bullshit
