What happens if every starting pitcher we have is pitching head and shoulders better than Colby? Do we keep the lesser pitcher in the rotation just to hang on to all 6 of the starters or do we go with the best 5 pitchers in the rotation and put Colby in the pen as the long man. It may come down to how well Perez and Griffin are pitching compared to Colby.

Depends on where we are in the season and what your definition of head and shoulders above is. If everyone continues pitching as they have so far, I send Perez to AAA.

There's two ways to look at it. If you really and truly believe Profar is the real deal (which I do), Elvis performing like this is a great thing for a couple reasons.

1) we're likely to stick with Elvis all year, and we need him producing like this for us to be contenders.

2) perhaps more importantly, it builds his value. We have all talked about how much of Elvis' contract we would have to eat in order to move him. If he continues to perform (albeit he will regress somewhat) teams will come calling, and that means we will have options, and that means we will be in a much better position to sell. It's kind of a double edged sword because if he does perform well you question whether we should trade him, but if he doesn't then nobody wants him.

I hate to say this because Elvis has been part of the greatest teams in Rangers history, but if you feel Profar is the real deal (which I do) you have to root for Elvis to perform so we can trade him. That does bring up an interesting point about the fact that Elvis is one of the leaders left from that regime of the greatest Rangers teams ever, and may finally be becoming that leader we've always wanted him to be. But there is always the money that we can shed in that scenario and considering what we will have to eat to dump Fielder, I feel like that makes this decision pretty straight forward.

Makes me wonder if Elvis and Prince be packaged together to Yanks if we eat some money and a prospect or 2 swap

I think he gets a full year down on the farm unless there is a middle infield injury. If he shows he is back to form then they have some things to figure out.

I wonder if at some point they decide to keep Brinson art AA all year if they might want Lewis to play at AAA next year. If that is the case then why not try Profar in CF for 2017. Then maybe at 3B while Beltre slides to DH for 2018.

No way they tinker with him this year, they're going to let him focus on getting healthy and getting back into a routine at SS

Thing is, Beltre is still so fucking good at third base I can't see asking him to move off it, even for the next three years unless he just completely nose dives defensively.

Romeo going back to DDJ off the bench. I think it was when we were playing Baltimore had we had the bases loaded and 0 outs in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game and Alberto was at 3rd and there was a fly ball to medium right and we did not send the runner and did not score and lost in extra innings I was thinking we sure could have used a speed guy there and he scores. And the only reason DDJ ends up sitting is our OF situation is just going to be too crowded. Otherwise I am good with what he has done overall as a Ranger.

Beltre is amazing. He should not be doing what he is doing at his age.

And apparently we forget how awkward he looked playing LF in small sample, I just can't see CF even being a remote option

Alberto should've been sent.

Being a fly ball pitcher you'd think he's bound to regress, but he gets strikeouts and I think that limits that. I will say once it gets hotter during the summer some of those fly balls will turn into home runs in Arlington, but he's also bound to get some starts in Anaheim, Oakland, and Seattle too. Long story short, leave him in the rotation till he regresses.

You missed a beauty all the way around.

Maybe I should miss more often, but they lost the ones vs the Sox that I missed so who knows?
