Agree for the most part. I think Kobe's biggest problem wasn't that he didn't sit out games to rest like Lebron has done the past couple of seasons, but that he played in games while hurt when he would have been better served to sit out. I saw a recent interview with the Lakers head trainer, Gary Vitti (who is also retiring at the end of the season) and he was talking about some of the stuff he used to have to do to get Kobe ready to play because he just wouldn't sit out. It was pretty fascinating.

As I said in an earlier post, we've all heard teams say "If this were a playoff game, he'd play" when guys were sitting out with more minor type injuries. Kobe always played in those games.

To his credit, a big part of the reason he did it because fans were paying to see him play and he didn't want to disappoint. To his detriment, as you point out, it's also why he's been done for a couple of years now.

I don't really think there's any reason for Lebron to be sitting out for rest at age 31, but I also agree that it's better to be safe than sorry.
I would say even considering the injuries his last couple of seasons he's been blessed-as we the fans have too-to get as many seasons out of him as we did.

one of the very best parts of which would occur if the Cavs pull off a title run- is the post game remarks by LeBron and Gilbert about eachother...lol...i think we would finally get a little truth- and a little mutual/respect admiration....it would just be very very interesting i think.

wish the regular season was just over at this point and we could get on with the real season.

Enjoy your Eastern Conference run.

Things may be less enjoyable come the Finals.

I don't expect the Cavs to go quietly.

But, I don't expect them to win it all either.

Gonna be fun, either way.

JR Smith just broke the Cavs single season 3 pt record for makes in a season. WHILE shooting 40% from distance.

Good thing he is a "team cancer" and that Nick Young and Dion WAiters are basically the same thing. Pretty funny- that- it sure seems that out of that whole trade SMITH has been the best player out of Mozgov, himself and Shumpert- at least for the longest time period. LOL....too funny.

So, he should get a raise this Summer, right?

who knows....we shall see... he has a player option for like 6 million i think...im sure he will decline that- test the market again--- if he wants to make the most possible money- he will probablyleave- if he wants to stay here with LEBron and co. and continue to contend for titles for the next half decade he could do that too...

Delly is a restricted free agent...

i kinda think Smith will be back on a similar deal- like 2 years 14 million or something...i dont KNOW that--- but i think he really likse being here with LEBron and the winning and everything after having been through some tough situations....hes really rehabbed his game and image here--- i almost thought the plan was to have Shumpert start and bring Smith off the bench- but Smith really never gave them the chance to make the switch.

I dont know on Delly- he is young- and a restricted free agent- can shoot a 3 and play D....the Cavs can match any offer obviously- but i really have no clue the type of offers Delly might get...maybe more than the Cavs are willing to match.

So just because a guy plays well, he's not a cancer, thug or anything else?

I guess you can drop your bullshit about Whiteside then, huh?

I ALMOST thought you would show some actual credibility and say something like "Ya know what- when the deal happened i didnt think it would work out for Jr Smith- but i cant deny that he has been great for the Cavs"

I guess there is just simply no hope of that happening. I should have known better.

and if Whiteside keeps his cool and has a positively AWESOME series like Jr Smith did in the Eastern Conference Finals last year- maybe ill change my tune- but-- i dont see it happening.

JR Smith can grow but impossible for Whiteside to grow. He's still the same person he was when he got drafted 5 years ago

He signed with Maverick.

He's getting paid by the Cavs.

You mean like the credibility you are showing with your hypocrisy regarding Whiteside?

You are the last person here who should be trying to call anyone out on their credibility considering you have absolutely zero credibility.

Maybe you can go cry to Mecca that I was mean to JR Smith.

i never said it was impossible for Whiteside to grow

I think the thing that you cant get through your pea brain - which i have repeated literally DOZENS of times- is that you are trying to compare Whiteside to the best centers in the entire game--- Im not even calling Jr Smith a top 50- probably not a top 75 player...hes probably the 5th or 6th mosti mportant Cav.

With Whiteside?--- even the other day- I think i Listed like 8 centers Id rather have....based on less than 2 years back in the league after being blackballed- AND even considering his discipline problems- i personally think that is a freaking GENEROUS ranking considering how many guys in the NBA are great players AND have the right attitude/work ethic/leadership qualities.
