Denver also rumored to be after interior OL JR Sweezy (Seattle)

Uhhh yes! He replaced Eric Fisher last year.

I'm going to have to go back and watch some of the games. I know at LT he really struggled. He does have experience playing Guard and RT as well though so have to see which games he played at those positions and see if he fared better.

Also quick update contract wise for Stephenson. It is a 3-year/$14 million with $10 million in guarantees. So So the reality is it is closer to a $3 million per year type contract than a $5 million per year contract. Looking a little better than I first thought.

Yeah like I said I don't really want to have to depend on Stephenson to start, but he is better then what we had starting last year and can backup both OT spots. He is sorta like our version of Ryan Harris/Chris Clark.

Remember when Harry Swayne was our RT and we still dominated. 2 of our 3 Super Bowls have now been won with atrocious RT play. Still no problem with this deal, the team knows what it needs OL wise i hope, though thats one area we havent seen a strong return of investment yet from the draft. Random thoughts is all.

Stephenson is one of those guys that's pretty talented but can't ever seem to put it together. Hopefully Kubiak and the rest of the coaches can help him reach his potential.

Funny you said that. I thought of Harry Swayne after signing Stephenson.

Remember good ole Gerald Perry?

I can't say that Gradkowski and Smith signings last year gave me a lot of confidence in the FA signings either. I do like that Stephenson is very athletic - which potentially fits in the ZBS. May take some time, but at least there is hope - and the $ committed wasn't bad at all.

Well I don't think anyone should be jumping up and down about the move, but it just makes sense to make a move like this...

We had to.

My guess is they would tell you he is not a great starter. He graded out pretty bad. I would say 3 things to that though. 1) He got forced into the LT spot this past year because Fisher was struggling and injury prone. My guess is he is a better RT than LT. 2) Broncos could be viewing him more as a swing tackle than a starting tackle with what he is getting paid. He is a great option to have incase of injury. 3) He is just now entering the prime of his career with only being I think 26. So good chance he actually does get a bit better than what he has shown in the past.

Kils says $5MM per which is starter money.
