I don't mind Dan Dickerson at all. I just hate when he blows a load when the other team makes an out.
I just laugh about it now.. but I remember you and I going nuts about this on CBS more than a few times. Nothing pisses you off more than when you think your team might have done something because the radio announcer gets excited only to find out he was excited for the other team making an out.

That's pretty sweet.

Dan and Jim have really grown on me over the years. They do a really nice job. Same with Rod n Mario.

I hope Morris stays with the Twins. Don't really care for him in game that much. Not as much as Rods goofy ass anyway.

I wasn't the biggest Rod Allen fan at first, but he grew on me. And when I heard Morris and Gibby on the TV broadcasts last season ... good Lord, bring back Rod for every game, PLEASE. I love C-Mo in the studio, too.

I like Dickerson, even if he does get over-excited at times when it doesn't seem warranted. I really tire of Jim Price using the word "arsenal" over and over again for pitchers, but he does know the game, especially pitching.

My only complaint is the never ending sound of Jim Price eating on air. The guy must tear through 10 hot dogs every game.

He's actually addressed the "eating" rumors on-air several times. He takes medication for a health condition that causes his mouth to frequently be dry. That's why the lip-smacking sounds. He's not eating hot dogs.

Morris sucks. So does Gibson. I don't know how people can dislike Rod. I think the Tigers broadcasts are very watchable. If you tune into a game from another team you will understand how lucky we are. I watched a few Royals games last year while chatting with the old CBS Royals crew... and even they will admit their guys are morons. The White Sox broadcast is unwatchable. The Twins broadcast is super boring. The Indians I don't really remember. Red Sox broadcasters are super homer fans like the White Sox....

We are spoiled. Most fans don't even know how good we have it. Our radio team is better than the TV team.. but both are awesome.
Gibby clearly was affected by his meds last year imo. He seemed more upbeat later in the year.

Red Sox might be the worst I've seen. The in game coverage was homertastic and they interview random chadduheads..... Gross...... during games.

Yankees do a nice job.

I was in Olathe, KS and Omaha, NE for work last year, and caught a Royals game each time on the hotel TV. One game was against the Tigers, who won, and the announcers sounded like whiney little 10-year olds who had their bike stolen.

I think he goes thru some DumDums though.

When I was a kid, Price ran/or was the mouthpiece for the Tigers Communitty outreach kind of thing. Group tickets and fundraisers and what not. My old man tells some good Price stories from getting our baseball teams tickets. Said he knew he couldn't call if he only had a couple minutes. Lol. Too long and uneventful for right now. But I am 100% concinced Jim is as good of a person as you'll come across in life.

Love it when he interviews his wife during pregame for charity deals. Hits on her, kisses her, THEN says who she is. Lol

Yeah, like 98-2002 or something. I don't know dates for sure.

He worked with a guy named Josh Lewin. (Who has done Rangers, Padres and I wanna say Mets now. He's also the Chargers play by play on radio.). Here for the Tigers. Mario was with the Angels then. Rod was chasing Japaneese pitchers with a bat.

End of Tiger Stadium he was our color guy. I can't say if he was there in 2000 for Comerica. Ran into him in left field upper deck sometime in August or so that last season. After a game. Was my last time at the Corner, for a Tigers game.

Completely non-essential tangent but, Gibby's wife and Rozema's wife (sisters) were on my wife's bowling league in the 90s.

The ol' yelluh-hammer.... The art of pitching..... Nice area..... Gotta love Jim.

C-Mo has worked hard to get better. He and Mickey do good work these days. They're a lot of fun.

Dave Rozema is one helluva nice guy. He used to bring his dog Sparky to grand openings for Meijer. I brought myself. Lol. His wife cluttered my email all the time. Very thorough lady.

I think an important part of broadcasts.. be it radio or tv is for the announcers to call the game well for anyone that is listening. I get they are going to say some homer stuff everyonce in a while as they are around the team a ton.. but the broadcasts that do it non stop is completely offensive to anyone watching it. The Tigers do a pretty good job of being neutral IMO. Heck.. Dickerson nuts his pants when the other team makes a nice out all the time.

I will be in Tampa for work March 1-2, but arriving Sunday to visit some friends. The Tigers first two "official" ST games are while I'm working (1 PM on March 1 & 2), but they play Florida Southern at The Joker on Feb. 29. Tix only $3 - $7 for great seats!

Were they good?

I honestly don't remember. Not as good as my wife, who probably averaged in the 160s then, and eventually got up to 180 before some injury issues. I just remember when my wife was league treasurer, seeing "Sandy Rozema" on a check, then checking her sheet to see if a Gibson was on the team. Then I had to go watch her league bowl the next week, of course. I believe Sandy was a regular, JoAnn just subbed.
