I think an important part of broadcasts.. be it radio or tv is for the announcers to call the game well for anyone that is listening. I get they are going to say some homer stuff everyonce in a while as they are around the team a ton.. but the broadcasts that do it non stop is completely offensive to anyone watching it.

One of the great Ernie Harwell's best traits, among many... you could tune to the Tiger broadcast on the radio, and until he announced the score, you couldn't tell from the tone of Ernie's voice who was winning.

I am old and I tell you rod Allen is one big useless cliche. He is the most boring outta touch trying to be cool uncool guy on TV. The Tigers should be ashamed having him in the broadcast booth.

i have watched Canadian tv a few times... so to say Rod Allen is the most boring out of touch trying to be cool uncool guy on TV might be true if Canadian tv didn't exist.

Different strokes, I guess. I think he's infinitely more interesting to listen to than Gibby or Morris were last season. And he has very good insight on what the pitchers might throw, when the runners might go, etc. Gibby and Morris may also have that insight, but they sure as hell couldn't communicate it.

Toledo actually looks like it should have decent pitching this year... now their offense is going to be straight up shit.. but they should have a good amount of decent pitchers.

Rod is wrong constantly on what pitches were throw though.

Seems to me that he likes to call changeups that drop, curveballs waaay too much.

When I was a kid, Price ran/or was the mouthpiece for the Tigers Communitty outreach kind of thing. Group tickets and fundraisers and what not. My old man tells some good Price stories from getting our baseball teams tickets. Said he knew he couldn't call if he only had a couple minutes. Lol. Too long and uneventful for right now. But I am 100% concinced Jim is as good of a person as you'll come across in life.

Love it when he interviews his wife during pregame for charity deals. Hits on her, kisses her, THEN says who she is. Lol

Lip smacking aside. I like Price because he is willing to rip the Tigers when it is necessary. I also want to add that the Indians believe it or not has a good TV broadcast team. They are both critical of the Indians' faults and failures when they occur.

Jim reacts like a guy that loves the Tigers. He knows guys and cuts them slack, but he keeps it real for sure. Games that we suck in the field are great when you listen on the radio. Well, you know what I mean.

i have never listened to the indians or twins broadcasts.. but the royals and white sox are impossible to listen to and you are better off muting.

traded a top 8 pick protected first rounder for a 25 year old 7 fter with a decent amount of promise that can shoot a little outside and marcus thorton, a smallish shooter that is a lot like meeks.

I like the moves. They basically gave up nothing. If they make the playoffs the pick they would have had wouldn't have landed them a better talent than they got with Motiejunas. The only way it hurts is if they poop the bed and the pick falls in between 9 and 14... which to be honest.. is no guarantee to land a good player.. and this draft looks like shit anyways.
