Another stupid response from you. You don't know squat about NFL history and it shows. Either that or you are just obtuse.

I clearly know enough to know that Hornung was A) Not even close to being the best running back on the Packers, B) not even close to being the best receiver on the Packers, C) was an average kicker at best. That isn't a HOF'er to me, and there ain't a million Lombardi quotes that can change that fact.

'He was part of the Packer dynasty.' Well hell...put the whole team into the Hall.

Like I stated before, I'll take Lombardi's word over yours any day.

That's nice and all. A guy good for about 400 yards on the ground, a buck fifty through the air and an average kicker per season. If that's a HOF'er, then there are probably hundreds of guys that deserve to be in who are not, and never will be.

There might be a tiny bit of personal bias there on Lombardi's part, don't you think?

I'm nowhere near old enough to recount those 1960s teams, but from the highlights I've watched, I did not detect anything special about Hornung.

Lombardi's blocking scheme and those linemen made that offense go.

I suggest you read the book Vince Lombardi on Football and you'll get a better understanding on the value of Hornung to those teams.

After winning the Super Bowl, Namath beat zero winning teams the rest of his career.

Probably the biggest oversight in the history of HOF voting was not putting Jerry Kramer in Canton.
Oversight!?!

Webster's Dad(Alex Karras) and Kramer are the Eddie Ciccote and Joe Jackson of football. Not an oversight.

Hey, get off Shoeless Joe, he didn't make an error, hit the only home run of the series and hit .375

Hornung is most definitely had a hall of fame career, but his gambling prevents his entry into the hall

Hornung is most definitely not a hall of famer. He averaged just over 1 reception per game, just over 8 carries per game, 4.2 yards per rush and 35 yards rushing per game, if he's a hall of famer just about everyone who has ever played is a hall of famer!

If he's so great why did it take him 15 years to get in? He got in because of the team he was on period!

Karras is Eddie and Kramer is Jackson n that comparison.

Not an oversight, not fair.

You won't see me wondering why Karras or Hornung aren't in. They don't deserve to be on account of their own actions.

TO will get into the HOF at some point.

He'll get in next year, imo... Not many strong candidates next year outside LaDanian Tomlinson, maybe Hines Ward...

TO should have been a 1st ballot inductee. If he doesn't make it in next year it would render the whole process a complete farce.

Hornung doesn't belong. He didn't deserve his Heisman either. At least 3 others were far more deserving, 2 of them were much better pros as well... Tommy McDonald & Jim Brown.

His first 5 seasons before several injuries took their toll, Namath went to 4 pro bowls, was selected all pro once and threw for more yards than any QB in history their first 5 seasons until they changed the rules and went to 16 games in the late 70s. This is in addition to the SB and his 4000 yard year that everyone knows about.
