Shazier smashing Gio's face was much worse. And they didn't even call a penalty. That changed the game completely.

"Defenseless receiver " stuff needs to be reworked. Head to head is a much more dangerous action imo.

ARTICLE 8. INITIATING CONTACT WITH THE CROWN OF THE HELMET. It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team’s end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or tackler against an opponent shall not be a foul. Note: The tackle box no longer exists once the ball leaves the tackle box. Penalty: Loss of 15 yards. If the foul is by the defense, it is also an automatic first down. The player may be disqualified if the action is flagrant.

There is nothing in the rule about the runner being defenseless. Shazier's hit was a penalty, or they should just remove this from the rule book.

Yea, in other words, you can't because you know that's exactly what happened.
so let me get this straight, a panel of ex professions, the head off officiating, and various others have stated it was a legal hit. but BECAUSE YOU, mr message board guy dont agree. your right?

........The rule is posted for all to see, and they still try to deflect and say that because the media says the call was okay, that it is. Are people really this blinded by the media? This is sad...

Two things - not all of them actually do agree.

Second, if they were, the consequence is that the credibility of the NFL is even further undermined than it is, considering the impact of even these two f-ups.

Also, many players actually have tackled the same way (and tackle to this day). It is still illegal - similarly how holding by the offense is called way too little, or - conversely - defensive holding was rarely called against D-lineman holding or tackling pulling players, or tackling the RB going out on a screen pass.

And the media (and the NFL) has also every interest in seeing the Steelers advance - way more $$$$ to be made from the Steelers reaching the Super Bowl than the Bengals.

Are you capable of independent thought?

If it's so clear cut just explain what part of the rule didn't meet the criteria on that play and point to a play where you think it should be called.

This is the play that rule was designed for.

Adam "Pacman" Jones is ready to apologize to Antonio Brown ... possibly.
Jones, who seems to be taking part in a social experiment to determine how quickly one can wipe away years of goodwill accumulation, said on Showtime's Inside The NFL that he will issue an apology to Brown if the Steelers wide receiver does not play in this weekend's Divisional-Round matchup against the Broncos.
Brown suffered a concussion on an illegal hit by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict late in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh's stunning 18-16 win. Jones -- who drew a back-breaking personal foul moments after Brown was injured -- said Monday he believed Brown had faked his injury to draw the flag.
"I will (apologize) if he don't play," Jones told Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall in an interview that will air Tuesday night. "But you know and I know that when Saturday gets here all that is going out the window. ... When Saturday gets here, he will be cleared Friday -- I promise you -- 24 hours before the game."
The game will actually be played Sunday, and that's not the only thing Jones has wrong. Medical professionals diagnosed Brown with a brain injury caused by the head-hunting ways that led to Burfict's three-game suspension.
Adam Jones needs to collect his wife and family and go to an island for 7-to-10 days. I cannot stress enough how beneficial disappearing can be to the 32-year-old's career.

Pacman: I'll apologize to Antonio Brown if he sits out

there is something seriously wrong with this guy ...yoi... I dont think that brown cares if he gets an apology from packman
