Don't knock me for this prediction because I agree that his injuries he isn't too appealing and he is close to the end due to that fact.... but

Anyone else expect us to draft a RB and sign Foster to a one year deal?

I am not sure how high we want to spend a draft pick on a RB again... I really have no interest in re-signing Ronnie Hillman. Still have faith with a good OL CJ Anderson can do well but he has injury history of his own.

Booker, Jordan Howard are two players I think would be fantastic in Denver. Just not sure what this staff will do in terms of spending an early pick to get one of these guys.

I haven't forgotten about Juwan Thompson either but he hasn't been real durable either and hasn't had much of an opportunity here yet. He will figure into the mix.

Foster isn't something I have much interest in but I would have the feeling that the coaching staff might.

I'm certainly under the impression Foster is a spent bullet. If he is healthy - I see the logic since he would obviously be in tune with the Kubiak offense.

I wonder what Crash thinks of Alex Collins.

Hillman does great when he has a back to alternate with. He's shown that he can't be a #1 guy all the time because when CJ's out he can't get anything going. But he's a great 1-2 punch when Anderson's healthy so if we can re-sign Anderson I say Hillman deserves it too.

Eh, I'm inclined not to spend any money or high draft picks on the RB position. Build the OL and RBs will emerge from obscurity. I'd rather they provide an open path to find the next Foster or Forsett than try to patch one up and hope it works out.

Besides the Broncos will have no money for RBs anyway. They've got other places they need to spend first.

I agree. I mean if you see a rb in the 5th rd that you had your eye on but didn't expect him to be there by then,go ahead and snag him but depending on who Denver loses, no doubt the rb stable they have now is more than capable of being very productive behind a solid O line.

Exactly this. 3 most important position groups QB, D-line, O-line.

One thing i wouldn't mind seeing though is one of those do-it-all fullbacks like a John Kuhn. Someone who is a good blocker and opens holes for the RBs but the D has to account for to run it or catch it out of the backfield.

Ronnie Hillman does nothing for me. I had faith when we drafted him... He hasn't had much of an OL here, but time for a change at RB. We need better. I want a young guy to come in (not saying top round player) although Booker is special and would be great in this system, but want a young guy with CJ Anderson. Done with Hillman. (Hoping this will help him have a great game this week by saying it)

:)

You do get Hillman is basically a Rooky right ? We got 3 rookies the same age ...You use to get on us for giving up player to quickly. Hillman is still a kid

Yeah DC as much as I like and respect you and I mean that, you are way off on Hilman. That guy in last two seasons has really impressed me with his toughness and I'll just dare to say, he's prob avg around 4 yrs per behind a inconsistent dysfunctional O line to boot. I was ready to give up on him 2 yrs ago because he was so weak between the tackles. But he beefed up,worked extremely hard, used the negative chatter about him to inspire and push him and has really shown me something running inside now. I for one have noticed this and am pretty impressed with his improvement and heart. I'll bet theirs not a player or coach that won't say how valuable they deem him. Maybe I'm just a Hilman homer in last two yrs but I call it like I sees it. In my mind anyway. :)

I am in full agreement with DC on Hillman .... He is a classic example of a guy who will get swallowed up in the playoffs as he is one dimensional ... Now, if he's the 2nd or 3rd guy coming off the bench, that's a little different, but having him start at RB is not good, and relying on him as we have is a recipe for inconsistency - and inconsistent football - esp inconsistent running football - always rears it's head at the worst time ..

I'm ready to move on

My 1991 Geo Metro has fewer miles on it ( 230,000+ )

The one FA RB I am hoping we do give a look at is Alfred Morris of the Redskins. I don't think he would cost very much and he would be the most familiar back with the system we run. I think he has got the raw end of a coaching change in Washington so I could see him really getting back to his rookie form here in Denver.

I mean look at his 1st 2 years in the league...1600 yards his first year and 1300 his 2nd while averaging over 4.6 yards per carry. Then he has a coaching switch and scheme switch from the ZBS that we would be running and his numbers fall off quite a bit. I think he is a system back which is why not many teams will be interested. He is one of those buy low and sell high kind of guys that Elway loves to bring in.

I'm tired of projects and retreads. Just draft one high and be done with it.

Well we did that recently with Knowshon Moreno. We then spent the next 5 years waiting to see this guy develop to then have one decent season but nothing to get too excited about.
