the Cavs really beat up on the Celtics...Celtics had been playing really good ball -especially at home- and were really hyped for this game etc....

Really good to see the Cavs play some really good ball and win a game like this decisively even though they still arent 100%. That is a great message to send the Celtics.

I can't even imagine a Heat fan making these types of comments during our Big 3 days.
You feel the Cavs need "send a message" to that Celts team?

I didn't see 1 minute of the game but I just read some of the tweets from the writers covering it.
They basically all were saying the Cavs played some decent D, but the Celts were missing wide open shots or they concluded the score would have been very close.

THAT is basketball.
Sometimes the shots fall, sometimes they don't.

Whiteside has shown he can do some freakish things, but also has some flaws to his game which opponents have exposed.
Plus as BK pointed out, the Heat have a decent small ball lineup and sometimes opponents go small ball to try to not have to deal with the strengths of Whiteside.

I've evaluated and criticized Whiteside fairly all season.
Plus, in close games he's going to get pulled if he's clanking FTs, as he should.

Regardless, hes still basically, in reality, an NBA rookie that the Heat got for nothing.
What happens next year with him will largely be decided by what happens the rest of this season.

Now, back to Love.
Cavs traded a ton to get him.
He's to this day, never accomplished anything of significance to help the Cavs win an important game or stepped up to show he can be a trusted leader if James is out.

And, he's a good FT shooter who can be mixed and matched in any sized lineup, so why is he being pulled in 4th qtrs of tight games?
lol....

just a few short months ago you were saying how youd rather have Whiteside long term than LaMarcus Aldridge- that he was possibly the most dominant center in the game- that LEBron would never have left if they knew this guywas coming.

Its all such a joke.

The Cavs hold the Celtics to a season low in points- and stomp on the Celtics throats in the 2nd half.....down play it however you want. The Celtics were primed for this game- etc. and the Cavs really took it to them with less than their best team. I think this is one of the Cavs best wins of the season and just reinforces to the Celtics that the playoffs were no fluke- we beat you 4-0 and you have a LONG way to go.

Holy crap, the Celtics tv guys make the cavs tv guys look like unbiased professionals. Hands down the most biased, obnoxious, unentertaining color commentary for a game I've ever heard.

Again, who ever thought the Celts were anything but a Long way to go from being EC championship material?

And, I think Cavs were more primed then the Celts because of the Love injury, etc..

Unlike you, I'm not going to make comments about game play from a game I didn't watch.
The comment I posted was based on the comments of the tweets from reporters who were at the game.
THEY were the ones saying the Celts shot a very low % and missed shots they usually make.

You're a joke.
You said Whiteside couldn't keep up the pace of last years stats and he's exceeded them while playing limited minutes.
You said his temper would get the best of him, so far he's been a model citizen.
He's a game changer because of his strengths. Please show me where I ever said he was a perfect player or didn't have weaknesses.

Is he a max player? Prob not, but as I've said all along, he's going to get paid by somebody.
I've said on the Heat board that I think he's gone.
Riley has some decisions to make, but I trust him.

Now. Heres the stats of 4 players.
You rank them 1-4 in the order you would want on your team.

Player 1. 26.6 mpg 6.7 ppg 9.7 rpg 0.5 blocks
Player 2. 29.2 15.8 8.8 1.1
Player 3. 27.6 12.1 10.5 4
Player 4. 19.2 7.4 4.4 0.9

Answer to above quiz.

Player 1 is Tristan, 2 is Aldridge, 3 is Whiteside 4 is Mozgov.

Whiteside easily distances the 2 Cavs, and would be ahead of L.A.. You're a clown in you think James wouldn't pick Whiteside over either of them (2 Cavs) without blinking an eye.

And James left (people say) because he wanted to play with a younger, healthier bunch of players so he could up his ring count.

Well, so far, he's still at 2, and the Cavs have had injury issues since day 1.

I honestly, seriously, don't ever think he's winning shit in Cleveland and especially if it doesn't happen this year.

I think everyone in the league if they had to pick between the 3 would take Whiteside over Mozgov or Tristan. He rebounds better than Tristan, scores better than Tristan, and block better than Tristan. It is really not a debate unless you're delusional.

You now realize this? I stopped watching Celtics game a long time ago because Tommy Heinsohn is the most biased color guy in NBA history. Thankfully he no longer does Celtics road games. The play by play guy is biased but not nearly as bad. Tommy eggs him on though

To be fair to Tommy, like a lot of stars in this league Lebron is a cry baby. He was just being brutally honest but he was not lying when it comes to that. Same can be said about Kobe, CP3, Blake, Wade, KD, and etc

For how long though?
Great plan by Cavs to bring him back vs the best, fastest athlete/PG in the league.
Hopefully he stays healthy so the excuse train can't make another stop in June, but I seriously doubt it.

Austin Carr turned on James when he left and now he slobbers on his balls like a puppy who doesn't know better.
People either love him or hate him, and it changes by circumstance.

To an extent, yeah, but it wasn't anything you don't see 20 times a game no matter who is playing... including from bench players and role players. It didn't sound like brutal honesty as much as it did obnoxious exaggeration... "LeBron is Crying!!"... "LeBron should be averaging 12 fouls a game"... "He's LeBron the refs will never foul him out"... etc, etc.

Anyway... I didn't even know the LeBron crybaby thing got all the attention it did. That's not even the part that bothered me. It's the perpetual discussion of every foul call and lack of a foul call that goes against Boston. He wasn't just taking out his bias on LeBron... he literally had to groan about every single call the whole game.

At first, my wife and I were just laughing about it... but by mid 1st quarter it was just annoying.

This is my first year with league pass. I had it at the end of last season but I don't remember if I caught any home Celtics games or not.

An honest, sincere question...

Do you really think there have been overboard excuses surrounding the Cavs with the injuries they had last season.

It felt like to me that the Cavs organization and the national media actually did a very good job of not turning the finals into an injury excuse... given the circumstance. Its an impossible storyline to avoid when the 2nd and 3rd best player on a team are missing the NBA Finals. If that was any other team... I actually think it would have been made into a much bigger deal.

But maybe my perception isn't reality... which is why I'm asking.

Lakers are lucky not to be in this situation with Clarkson.

He's no headcase. But, do you trust his stats enough on this roster to give him 12-15 mil per?

Luckily, he doesn't have enough years of service * Arenas rule*. But, Whiteside does.

That's the question. Is he that good or is he just a good player on a bad team? From what I can see, as Kobe and Russell have both started to play better, his numbers haven't diminished much, which tends to make me think that maybe he's for real. But it's a 4-21 team, so the jury is still out, imo.
