IF we are sitting at the pic#20-25 range and Elliot is there and all the 3-4 De's are gone I say take him. With the play of Compton and Foster ILB is no longer a need. The safety from Clemson is intriguing. I think it Jevon's Kearse's son.

You have to be kidding. ILB is the biggest need we have going into the.offseason period.

There is no way we take Elliot in the first when we can get as good a back in the second.

Exactly what quality teams did Elliot beat?

how about 185 vs alabama for starters

RB isnt a need but that myth you can draft a RB anywhere is just that a myth . now i am not falling on my sword and say elliot is a must . i am saying he is a game changer and we need guys like that so if he is the BPA then you take him

as for needs a i would say ILB center are 1a and 1b , te safety cb tall physical wr are in the mix as well

but its early yet to say who looks good on our draft board

my next funny thing is when people say "recent history says , blah blah blah " and you shoot that down then you get player A isnt player B as the retort as if your point is still valid

you have a bias about RBS , some people last year had a bias against drafting OGS in the top 5 yet we did and it looks to be the right choice

you draft the BPA if that is your philosophy our number one need is a game changer not a position per se now he can be an OLB TE RB Safety CB center WR

the same guys who are anti rb are the same guys who say draft the best player available except at RB center OG RT DT which really means you are a draft for need person

We have a WR playing big minutes at corner. Culliver blew out his entire knee in late November/early December and we're talking RB. Will Compton is our most competent ILB. Will Compton! Let that sink in. Hall and Golston are serviceable, but.....RB? We will know more after FA, but that would be tough to swallow. Imo

If we sign back Robinson. Compton, Riley, and Foster is a decent ILB core.

Top ten rushers this season...
Thomas Rawls was undrafted and is currently number 9 in the NFL and he only started 6 games.
Devonte Freeman was a fourth rounder and is currently number 8. He wasn't even the starter in week 1, missed a couple games with concussions, and also leads the RBs in TDs.
LeSean McCoy was a second rounder and is number 7. He has missed time with injury.
Latavius Murray was a sixth rounder and is number six in the NFL.
Chris Ivory was undrafted and is number 5.

Demarco Murray was the NFL rush leader last season and is 24th this season. He hasn't been injured at all but is a poor scheme fit. RBs are a dime a dozen...it is not a myth. It is about scheme and individual fit.

The last RB that was drafted in the first round by the team that made it To the Super Bowl...Rashard Mendenhall in 2011.

The last RB drafted in the first round that actually won the Super Bowl...Joseph Addai in 2007.

Player A (Elliot) is not regarded as high as Player B (Gurley), so the point is valid. Where did Mark Ingram go? He was regarded as the best in the nation and actually won the best player in college football.

Guards have been going earlier and earlier in recent years. People who were against it haven't moved up with the times.

BPA doesn't take into consideration position and therefore value to a team. It is flat out stupid to take BPA, which no actual team uses...they all look at value. BVA is a much more intelligent way of doing business.

The guys you are referring to are really saying BVA...not BPA.

well, they are 5-8. they should be. no one points to STL as a great drafting franchise. they basically wasted all the picks they got from us for RG3.

Look back at AP...do you think Viking fans would like to have Patrick Willis and his success over AP?

Everybody in St. Louis is complaining. They are horrible. It doesn't matter how good an individual is if they are not winning.

You guys don't think that the good play of Compton, Foster, Blackmon, and Dunbar change the draft strategy?

Not in the least bit. It is always best value available. These guys are role players and only Dunbar has an unknown ceiling.

We have our starters at CB in Breeland and Culliver. Blackmon and Dunbar can be 3rd and 4th CB's so that wipes out CB of the need list. Compton is playing at a high level now. If we sign back Robinson what is wrong with those three plus Foster as a 4th ILB plus we have the rookie from ARK who is hurt. That should cross off ILB.

The top needs going into FA/draft are now DE,RB, S,C, and now TE b/c Carrier will not be ready for 2016.

All depends on who they also retain. After watching Jackson again come up limping (fortunately appears to be alright) it just reminds us that they have some tough decisions to make in the WR dept. Same applies to other areas that you might view as strengths.

It seems as if you guys are basing your projection on a conventional draft with the normal amount of picks allotted per draft. Did you guys forget that SM loves getting extra draft picks?

It was based on that premise that I kept ( and continue) suggesting that Washington should be more creative when answering the question, what do they do at WR, QB, and a year ago RB? Which is don't give away what other teams need by simply releasing them. I'll bet that anyone of you, knowing what you know now about Morris, would have easily made the trade as I suggested then.

We would have to resign Blackmon which I am all for but that hardly takes care of CB. I agree that it is nowhere close to our weakest position.

Robinson was missing tackle after tackle earlier this season. You have a completely different opinion of high level than I do. Compton has been better but I think Foster has been far better. Martrell Spraight was a fifth rounder that has missed an entire season. He may not even make the team so I don't know how you include him. We don't have a legitimate starter at ILB on our roster. By far the weakest position on the team.

Please explain how we are weaker at DE than we are ILB. I actually see our front five as a huge advantage. TE is an afterthought but if quality is there at any point and it is the best value, take him.

I agree RB is a need but there is no value in round 1. If our best value is RB in round 2...fine.

I am assuming that we will release Hatcher. That is why De is a top need. Why aren't Blackmon and Dunbar CB's 3 and 4 on our team? Why doesn't that take care of CB? Robinson has been hurt all season that is why is play has been poor. Compton is the leader of the defense right now he is playing great as is Foster. That is 4 decent to good ILB's on our team. TE is now a need b/c Carrier wont be here in 2016 b/c of his injury. Not a great need but a need.

You are absolutely delusional to think that Elliot is not a first round pick. He will probably be the BPA when we pick in the 1st round and should consider taking him. Kearse the safety from Clemson looks like a freak. HIs size is incredible.

Bottom line a Bama DE, Kearse, or Elliot should be the top three targets in the first round.
