Just out of curiosity I want to see what everyone's early thoughts are.

OFFENSE - (25 total)
QB (3) - Trubisky, Pickens, Rudolph
OL (9) - Daniels, Dotson, Moore Jr, Okorafor, Cole, Hassenauer, Green, Leglue, Haeg
RB (4) - Harris, Snell, McFarland, Heyward (RB/FB)
WR (6) - Johnson, Claypool, Pickens, Austin, Boykin, Miller
TE (3) - Freiermuth, Gentry, Rader/Sternberger

DEFENSE - (25 total)
DL (6) - Heyward, Alualu, Wormley, Leal, Loudermilk, Adams
OLB (4) - Watt, Highsmith, Avery, Tuszka
ILB (4) - Bush, Jack, Spillane, Johnson
CB (6) - Wallace, Witherspoon, Sutton, Maulet, Pierre, Layne
S (5) - Fitzpatrick, Edmunds, Norwood, Kazee, Killebrew

SPECIALIST - (3 total)
K - Boswell
P - Harvin
LS - Kuntz

Some thoughts
QB... If they can find a suitor then I think they trade Rudolph & keep Oladokun.

RB... Would love to see Durant or Warren shake things up in the depth chart, but for now I think the only shakeup is Heyward replacing Watt at FB. But he may actually end up replacing Snell & Watt sticks around.

WR... Knocking Olszewski off simply because he's not going to have an impact on the depth chart outside of return specialist, and I think Austin steals that spot. Gunner is too expensive for being a fairly arbitrary contributor to the team.

DL... Would love to see Tuitt back but it looks less & less likely by the week. Saying he wants to play, but sold his house months ago & isn't with the team during voluntary workouts... Not to mention Colbert said he's STILL dealing with a knee injury after taking a full season off. Just doesn't add up to any sort of optimism about his return.

DB... No surprises here, unless you count cutting Karl Joseph. Hard to see where he fits into the equation with all the talent they acquired on the backend. Still time to sign someone in the CB room. Maybe Haden returns after all.

Looking at that RB depth. I can't help but cringe if by week 9 and Harris is out. Then they have to rely on any of those guys to gain 2+ yards per carry.

If Najee gets hurt I’d bet the farm that Steelers Nation will be pounding the table for Le’veon.

You are 100% correct, even though that reunion wouldn't probably go too well.
Mixed reaction I'm sure. It would go over better than signing AB.

Bell is old, busted and out of practice.

It would NOT go well. I'd rather run Snell or Heyward out there than pull Bell from mothballs.

I agree. And there is a stockpile of capable FAs out there that they could form a committee approach with if Najee goes down (knocks on wood).

So far we have a couple of repeated dominators at camp practices every day...

George Pickens

Jaylen Warren

So if Warren gets the nod... I think that spells the end for McFarland. Snell has been having a productive camp so I don't think he's at risk.

Well shit. Both of these guys had a decent shot at making the roster. Joseph looked good in camp, and Miller was making some waves. I think Miller would have had a tougher time making the 53.

I think if anyone is at risk from Warren it's Snell.

Warren and Snell are similar kinds of back. McFarland is a speed guy that Canada might want for situational football.

Agreed. Don't think I was aware of Snell's knee injury at the time. But Snell is definitely at risk if he doesn't get healthy. Warren isn't going away without a fight. I'd even throw Teague's name into the mix.

McFarland... I agree. Seeing how they went after McNichols in FA (and Ballage last year) makes you think that there is most certainly a need for a scat-back type RB in the offense.
