2018 WJC to be held in Buffalo (sorry Pix) and the Canada-USA game to be held at the Ralph!

Over/under on % of American attendees is, what, 10%? Will we get scolded even worse by the Buffalo News this time?
Try to be slightly less drunk and obnoxious and we'll see :suds:

“I think we saw a different side of the normally placid, polite, patient, good neighbours we thought we knew,” the News’ Donn Esmonde writes.

Since fucking when have people from Toronto been kind? Everybody here's a fucking Grade A asshole!

These damn Yankees need to stop confusing Toronto with Flin Flon!

Ugh. Don't want an important game played outdoors, because the actual hockey is always shit

Agreed - A major part of the attraction of Canada - US is the speed factor and end-to-end action, slow outdoor ice is going to nullify that aspect.

But think of the time lapse montages of the rinks being built!

Some of the articles are saying the Sabres are making a bid for the Winter Classic at the same time, so they can use it as a package deal.

WJC game on 12/31, WC on 1/1. Only have to construct one rink that way.

Fuck the outdoor games.

Not only is the quality of the game generally worse, with the poor quality ice there is going to be a condition related injury that cripples a team or a player's career.

Honestly if they are going to have outdoor games they should plan them for either Edmonton or Winnipeg, that way at least there is a chance there will be nice, hard ice to play on.

If that's the case, Canada could be in trouble. He has not been very impressive in the Q at all this year.

That's not good news, but I appreciate the update from our Maritimes correspondent. Also, some very grainy video of the Blackwood slash can be found by clicking the following link:

Dangerous slash in the OHL.

Hey J.

Maybe the Walman injury will open things up for Chabot to make the team. It sounds like he's been playing well fro you guys (I've only seen highlights). It's be nice to see a Sens prospect in the WJHC for team Canada.

Here's hoping Chabot pans out liek the last Sea Dog Ottawa picked. Some guy named Hoffman. He's been alright for us.

Yeah Chabot has been the Sea Dogs' best player so far this season. He missed the last couple of games with a minor injury that apparently isn't expect to be a factor for his World Junior tryout. And yeah things seem to be working out well with Hoffman. Amazing to think that he was still playing in the Q as a 20 year old.

You might say it's a bit of a "chicken and the egg scenario". His team is underperforming big time and his numbers mediocre at best. Maybe he'll do better with Team Canada.

Had my first look at him in person on Saturday. He didn't look awful but he didn't look like someone that should automatically be given a spot on the team either.
