“I’ll give you a quick injury update, Jordan Reed had a right knee MCL sprain, an ankle sprain also he’s in the concussion protocol,” said a concerned looking Jay Gruden.

“[Ryan Kerrigan] had a hip pointer. He should be okay. [Trent Murphy], glute contusion, he came back and played. [Pierre Garcon] a knee, a mild sprain, managed his knee inflammation okay. His knee is a little sore.”

Gruden was asked his level of concern about Reed’s knee and the concussion.

“About the knee? He hurt the knee at the end of the first half. He came back and played. [The concussion] is a concern. The level, you know these things are all different. Each player and the magnitude of the concussions, you just don’t know until they go through the protocol and get tested, go through the necessary steps to make sure they’re okay and I don’t know the severity of it at all.”

While the news on Reed is concerning, sounds like there’s good news on the DeSean Jackson and Perry Riley front.

“DeSean, we’ll see if we can get a little more out of him this week. See what he can do. He’ll be day to day. [DeAngelo Hall] is in the early rehab stages of his toe. And Perry, we’re hoping to see back in practice on Wednesday.”

Always wondered what the true dynamic behind the scenes was between Kyle and Griffin. Probably won't ever know the full story.

You hear comments like this all of the time since coaches & players move around a lot in the NFL. Honestly - I don't put much stock into this thought process. NFL teams only play once a week & 16 times so each game means a lot & I truly don't believe that most coaches & players don't give 100% except perhaps when the season is lost (especially someone like Kyle Shanahan who seems like an intense hard worker who no doubt wants to impress to eventually get a head coaching job).

Sure Shanahan is going to want to destroy the Skins defense but no less than when he plays any other team & especially since they are in a tight race with the Panthers. I would have a tendency to believe this to occur in a sport like basketball or baseball since they play so often & I am sure lots of guys don't give it 100% every game.

If there is anyone on that team wanting to make a point in this game it's Leonard Hankerson. His career here marred by nagging injuries, he's bound to want to show that this team gave up on him too early. Most here will probably disagree with him, but it will be an extra motivating factor.

Some of that was tongue in cheek but some is not. Knowing a whole bunch of college players from our program and some that are in the NFL now don't discount the competitive spirit. I can guarantee you they like to hand out a whooping to someone that let them go, ignored them whatever the circumstance. You are also right that they want to give out that whooping anyhow but I know for sure they remember when they feel slighted it feels a little bit sweeter.

IF we win this game it would be a statement game and would put us on the map. We would also be getting all the hype and would be the favorites for winning the East. If our safeties could get there heads out of there asses we have a chance.

If we are smart this could actually play as a good thing for us. If Kyle is really coming in with the mind set of making a statement, he might get into trying to press the passing game to run up the score. As we are OR should be a team based off of defense and ball control, the best way for us to stay in this game is to limit the Falcons ground game and play above the rim coverage. If this gets to a point where we need to score alot of points to keep up, this will get horror show ugly fast.

If Reed is out, might also make use of T. Compton again (if he's healthy) for blocking situations or possibly roll in DY for more snaps.
