The not giving up good prospects I have no issue with but there has to be a salary dump out there to help their anemic offense in the short term.
Want Edwin? Even comes with a cheap option year! All we would want in return is our Thor back, please.

I'm a Yankee fan living in Flushing so I'm mentioning what the Met fans I know and the radio hosts are saying.

Always nice to get the info on someone (Reyes in this case) from folks watching on an everyday basis. I had no idea his D had fallen that far off. Thanks for confirming

If it is, it is. Worry about it in 4 years. Jays are better today than they were yesterday.

I'd agree with that, but when Tulo hits the DL next week, the Jays will be in the same exact place before the trade.

Another difference is their new overrated and overpaid SS is guaranteed about $52MM more than their old overrated and overpaid SS was.

I knew that :rolleyes2:

But like, if you could pass word that we would like Syndergaard back to someone there, I'd really appreciate it. Promise we'll only chase the WC, Yankees can keep the ALE.

Well, my phone and cable are with Rogers but whatever. They can afford shiny, easily breakable stuff.

Yes they can, but as a fan, you need to understand that when that shiny, easily breakable stuff breaks, it hurts the Jays really badly.

Eh. It's $50 mil. They're just finishing flushing, what, $40 mil down the toilet for Ricky Romero?

All I can do is hope for the best and that he plays in more games he doesn't. Hey, I wish it was Andrelton coming over but I'm more than content with Tulo.

Jays have built a pretty good farm and the best lineup in the majors while overpaying guys like Reyes and flushing money for guys like Romero. They'll figure it out.

The way they talk about Syndergaard you have a better chance of winning the Bronze in female gymnastics than getting him but I'll put in a word for ya.

This doesn't make a ton of sense for either team as far as I can tell. The Jays gave up assets for barely an upgrade at a position which wasn't actually weak, who costs more money, and who isn't a pitcher. The Rockies dumped Tulo's contract only to bring back another bloated salary. They got some prospects, and the term is shorter, but why wouldn't they just go for a haul of elite prospects instead?

Why?

Yeah, this was a very bizarre trade.

They've got the best lineup in the majors, and one of the worst pitching staffs, so they go out and try to improve their lineup. Not sure they're going to figure anything out.

Well, the GM still doesn't quite understand what it is that a pitcher is supposed to do. That isn't good.

Their pitching staff is roughly average overall, but yeah, that's probably the place they should upgrade.

Far, far below average. Jays are still .500 and they're actually getting decent starts from 3/5 starters lately. They need at least one starter and another reliever and they still might not get too far above .500.

By the numbers, they're a roughly average/slightly below average staff. The could use an upgrade, but they're not a "bad" pitching staff.

We as fans just tend to severely undervalue average. Average at the MLB level is still pretty valuable.

Please no
Let him go back to the Mets, I heard they need a SS and have some pitching.
Can totally imagine Preller thinking it's a good idea, though.

Depth Charts BaseRuns Standings | FanGraphs Baseball

Going by BaseRuns, Jays are the third unluckiest team in the majors.

But their team ERA is still godawful and they have nobody to blame but themselves. Even one better starter and the Jays are probably at most 3 games back of the Yankees.

Tulo's a heck of a player but don't know why Toronto acquired him, they need pitching more than another bat.
