Titles, schmitles.

The reason you want Kansas over UConn is that Kansas delivers the Witchita and Topeka tlevision markets. All UConn brings is New York and Boston.

The only reasons to add Kansas is basketball and if you were to keep the B1G contiguous while truly pursuing Oklahoma.

Connecticut has about 700,000 more population, not counting Kansas City, Mo Kansas fans.

Neither is high. To me it boils down to which is a more storied basketball program for BTN's national brand. That would be Kansas.

I agree, but UConn adds more content in other sports besides basketball. Both are national basketball brands so that's wash to me, both have been successful albeit more recent for the Huskies. It's not like we're comparing Cincinnati basketball to Kansas basketball.

If you were solely talking football then the ACC would be in trouble. However the ACC is one of, if not the, best conferences in the country for CBB. There are really only 2 sports that matter and as a conference you really need to be dominant in at least 1 of them. The ACC has that, the B12 does not
Just this past regular season the Big12 was rated the best conference in CBB and that was with KU being down a bit and Texas making a coaching change. ACC has a great basketball conference I don't argue that and they had a good tourney but it's not better than the Big12. This conference could add UConn, Cincy and Memphis in about 3 minutes and run far away from any conference in the country when it comes to basketball if we wanted to.

I made a poll in the College Basketball Forum.

Well hell - that settles it. You invite UConn because the Huskies bring not only their own fans, but Kansas fans as well!

No. You're consistently a dumbass who needs things spelled out for him. See?
It was obvious to anyone with even a modicum of intelligence that I was not being particularly serious. That's why you didn't get it.

I got what I needed. That you couldn't follow simple format instructions where an example was even spelled out for you.

An interesting read. But I think the late John Nash won a Nobel Prize for pointing out why this is exactly how people do NOT behave.

As the article points out, if there is one over-arching television contract, there will be no need for conferences - and a HUGE disincentive for having large ones. So the entire premise is based on a willingness to completely realign (which certain conferences with inflated views of themselves) will be completely unwilling to go along.

So TLDR version: I don't buy it.

Chip Brown is such a fucking idiot it is beyond belief.

Does he really believe that the Big 10 schools, that are fully invested into their own network and brand (and yes, part owners) are going to just roll with a P5 conference network?

Guy is dumber than a Texas fan thinking Charlie Strong brings them home 8 wins this year.

Welcome home. Not only is your OU rivalry renewed but you get to be tied to Texas again.

Honestly guy is kind of a mouthpiece for Texas but he has good info. This one is a long shot though-it may make sense from a financial standpoint but it is a little to revolutionary to be feasible. Fans would revolt and the networks that own tv rights and didn't get their fair share would sue (assuming they had open contracts when it went down). Plus you would have quite a few bowls go down-everyone bitches about two random teams in no name.com bowl on December 20th but I've always seen more football around the Holidays as a good thing so I'd be sad for that.

Anyways good ideas but they are unlikely at this point.

In Texas fashion it is their means of creating a diversion from reality. The diversion is to keep their minions guessing before Texas has milked them enough to throw in the towel and go Independent leaving them as mid-majors the likes of WAC/MWC.

Oklahoma and Kansas are the only two remaining that can tell Texas to go fuck themselves. The national brand that OU would provide another P5 is through the roof.
