Murph I hope you and Justin saw the game

Caught a few of the HR's, mostly CD's. Glad they got the win, considering Colby couldn't keep the ball below belt high. I kept thinking about the game 3 years or so ago, where he gave up 3 HR's there, in the first inning or something. Never had a good feeling about this one, so yeah I didnt watch much.

You suck ass Mitch. I can't wait for the all star break so I don't have to see your ass for about a week. Can't believe this dude is still on the damn team.

Dude has damn near retired from the board.

Still here! Just dealing with a new job and moving into a new place at the same time. Haven't had a ton of time to watch ranger's baseball and the Spurs off season starts today, so I have another thing to side track me. I'll try to watch one of the two games left in Baltimore.

I see the reverse jinx is alive and well on this board. Funny. Wonder if we could get some Elvis spillover?

For those interested in the rumblings in Anaheim

Wonder who leaked this? Makes me reflect how JD has taken the high road in these "alleged altercations" with Nolan. He showed a lot of restraint and patience with Wash trying to utilize his strengths and minimize his deficiencies. Still pretty ticked about how Profar was brought up and then sat. Banny is not perfect but he is not that

It's been discussed/debated here for a year plus now about Profar.

And I sure a similar thing isn't happening with Rua right now. He's older than Profar, and earned his way to the bigs at the beginning of the season. But right now, he's sitting and benefiting no one.

If everyone gets healthy, I'd like to see him get sent down and get consistent playing time/AB for a while. I still feel good about his future.

Or the game in 2012 where in 7 innings he struck out 12 but gave up 5 HRs and that were the only hits he gave up. Strange game.

This would be the ideal day for him to start against the left hander. Tough choices ahead when DDJ gets back

Chen may be Baltimore's best pitcher this year. His ERA in June is 2.13. So we will have our work cut out for us.

Not really, he needs swings, and going to AAA will let him get those, let Martin rot on the bench, he's certainly had his chances to prove himself and hasn't

Only factor in his favor is he's RHed, but that's not enough... If only we could get rid of Choo and let Rua man RF, provided he gets hot at some point... which he hasn't

This note from the Elias Sports Bureau caught my attention at the end of last week: The team that scores first wins 71.6% of games this year.

I knew it would be a substantial amount of games decided, but I didn't think it would be this high.

Also, yesterday I heard the Rangers in May the Rangers were 8-2 in one run games. But only 3-6 in June.

Take a look at the five best bullpens in baseball at the start of this week, none of which you could find among the 10 teams with the highest Opening Day payrolls:

TEAM ERA POSITION PAYROLL RANK
St. Louis 2.01 1st place, NL Central 12th
Kansas City 2.07 1st place, AL Central 17th
Pittsburgh 2.37 1st place, NL wild card 24th
Houston 2.60 1st place, AL West 29th
Baltimore 2.73 1st place, AL East 14th

I got all this info off of SI.

Bang for your buck, not overspending and getting production from your bullpen allows you to spend money elsewhere

Exactly.....Aren't those rather impressive numbers for those teams re: dollars spent on the pen vs production?

I think the tough choice is whether to demote Rua or Martin. Rangers may want to salvage Martin and think AAA is best approach but yes Rua needs consistent playing time IMO. Also have to deal with Alberto and Rosales on 25 man and pitchers ready to go off DL. Going to have some interesting choices ahead if all healthy.
