I mentioned that over on the Lakers board Shanemans. Especially if Randle is included in the deal. Kobe is not going to get along with Cousins for the same reasons he and Howard could not get along. This deal is rapidly going into the realm of stupid and somebody in the Lakers FO has a major stiffy for Cousins and my guess it is Jim Buss who is going to eff this thing up in hurry if it is.

He wants to be traded.

Aaron Bruski: .@CarmichaelDave reporting that DeMarcus Cousins asked for a trade one month ago. CD adds that Cousins’ camp was split on the decision.

That is good news Mecca. Unlike Howard who was meh with a trade to the Lakers, Cousins is motivated and that will ease and potential Kobe angst even though the Lakers are proceeding without Kobe's input which is also a good thing. Now all that has to be accomplished is convincing the Kings majority owner who presently is saying no. Orlando has officially left the discussions so this is between the Kings and the Lakers now if it goes down.

Trade, DeMarcus Cousin

I feel like it's more about his agent trying to push for a trade to get him out than it is Cousins, but even if he did ask for the trade I can't really blame him. They fired a coach who he really liked and had the team over .500 last year before Cousins got sick because the GM Pete D'Alessandro(who is now in Denver with Malone) didn't want him. Then they bring in a coach who might not even want to have him on the team even though he's their best player. This franchise is just a mess, why would any star or superstar wanna deal with this?

Agreed.

I think this Owner is taking notes from the Dolan/Sterling School of Fucking a Team up.

It's madness over there.

I was befuddled when they canned Malone.

The Team started off red hot until Boogie got sick.

Now, in no way do I believe they could have sustained that pace.

But, the players were happy and guys wanted to be there.

That hasn't happened since the Webber days.

Plus Shanemans, the Cavs need to improve their talent level on their bench. JR Smith and Shumpert just didn't get it done. So yep, they have some work to do.

Not to mention that Shump is expected to fetch a deal north of 8mil...per sources.

The Cavaliers will have the right to match any offer sheets Shumpert receives on the open market. At 24 years of age and following a rejuvenated season, he will be in store for a lucrative pay raise from the $2.6 million he collected this past season.

Half a dozen teams have expressed interest in the quick-handed, defensive-oriented guard with upside, a source says. League executives believe he'll command north of $8 million per year.

Probably not because the shooting was/is still a problem and the west was too tough, but he had them playing defense, they all got along with him it seemed like, and they started to look like an actual TEAM that within a year or two could be in the playoffs depending on what FA's they signed and draft picks they made. Just a shame that after all the down years and coaching changes, they finally found a good fit and he's gone because they couldn't win without boogie.

:exes:The Boston Celtics have offered Marcus Smart and picks No. 16 and 28 in the first round to the Philadelphia 76ers for Nerlens Noel and the No. 3 pick.

The 76ers were not interested in the trade offer.

The Celtics have also been interested in trading for DeMarcus Cousins.

Hopefully he'll use some of that money to get a few feet knocked off of that Kid n' Play do of his.

If it's Cousins and the #6 pick for the #2 and Randle, I'm okay with it. If it's the #2 and Randle for just Cousins, I'd rather not.

AND Clarkson too apparently.

Which gets a big 'Hell no' from me!

Mitch won't give up everything for Cousins. He's not in a weak position here.

For the first time in decades the Lakers are in a unique position to do well in both the draft and free agency. Mitch won't fuck this up!

Mitch and company are doing their due diligence. They've worked out around 80 players for the draft. I'm sure Mitch has called several GMs to explore trade scenarios. I'm confident that this will be a successful summer.
