No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
Blake Bass a RHP from Angelo State in the 8th.
Nice. Wonder if they were hoping he'd be there or surprises he was there. He's first round talent. Will be interesting to see how they allocate their budget. Never a bad idea to stock up on starting pitching prospects with high ceilings.

Texas Rangers scouting director: We got four of top 20 players on our board | | Dallas Morning News
Rangers scouting director Kip Fagg is normally an enthusiastic, fast-paced talker.
On Tuesday, he was positively frenetic.
“I can’t think of a better day that I’ve had in my 24 years of scouting with the Texas Rangers,” Fagg said after the Rangers selected eight players in rounds 3-10 of the amateur draft. “The first four guys we drafted, we had them all in our top 20 on our board. That’s never happened in my career. That made it special.”
this has to be the first draft in a while that the Rangers didn't draft a LHP

Wow...that say's somethingBetween 2005 - 14 they never drafted fewer than 6 LHP.
The draft is far from over though. About 30 rounds left today.this has to be the first draft in a while that the Rangers didn't draft a LHP
2 LHP drafted so far today and there are still 20 rounds left I believe. Including Adam Choplick who is 6'9" and weighs 250. I can hear the jokes about him licking his chops now.this has to be the first draft in a while that the Rangers didn't draft a LHP
I doubt this played into their decision on who to draft in any way, but with the jet stream gone in Arlington, I'm not sure LHP are as important as they once were there.

Oh, Okay. They do have their 6 LHP drafted now and there are still a few rounds to go. So they have continued the trend that Winding mentioned. I don't know how unusual it is for them to not to draft a LHP in the first 10 rounds.i know i meant on the 1st 2 days

They do seem to shy away from corner players. Only 2 corner infielders drafted so far and only a very few purely corner OF. I would like to see some more Gallos, Davis', Palmers, Blalocks, Morelands, and corner outfielders drafted in the first few rounds. I used to always hear the argument that you couldn't get too many SS because they could be traded for other players, but that hasn't really come to fruition enough to benefit us.
