I don't know if it's the same with basketball, but it's my experience that height/weight are pretty questionable for baseball and football on reference.com.

First of all, Iggy has the experience of guarding Lebron his whole career. He has the athleticism and the length to contest shots. Posting up can be an issue but that is where length comes in.

Delly is a second year bench player trying to guard a prolific scorer. Klay outmatches him with his length and athleticism. On the other hand, Delly can contest Steph's shots and also has the athleticism to keep up somewhat.

Of course, it's not like Iggy is being asked to defend the best player in the game. You Cavs fans are too funny.

THere is zero comparison by anyone mentally stable between Andre Iguadala who has made all star teams and all defensive teams and Mathew Dellavadova who has been barely hanging onto his job in the NBA- was undrafted- and as far as measurables go is well below the NBA average in every possible category

AS Chris Mannix said in his SI article- it was way more likely a guy like Shawn MArion would come off the bench and do what he did to Curry than Delly.

He siad that it was more likely Tryrone Lue pulled a Roger Dorn and activated himself- then the 2nd year undrafted St. Mary's product coming in and shutting down the reigning MVP.

In game 1, Iggy spent a lot of time 1 on 1 vs. Lebron. He did the same in game 2, but got help when Lebron drove to the hoop.

And are you seriously comparing one guy giving up 2" and 40 pounds to the best player on the planet, to a guy giving up 3" and 20 pounds to a guy who isn't even considered the best player on his own team?

No, I'm just saying that a height advantage is more important for shooters. As a shooter, if you know your shot won't be altered you have nothing to think about and you are just shooting in an empty gym.

That kind of goes along with my point too. We all know LeBron isn't a great jump shooter, so the height advantage on the perimeter is less of a factor. And once he gets into his scoring areas the help comes

I'd say the big difference is two fold:

1.) Delly was literally one on one vs Klay. Iggy knows he has.gets help behind him.

2.) Even though the size disparity is bigger for LeBron/iggy vs Klay/Delly, I think given the skillset of Klay the height difference is more impactful in that matchup than in the LeBron matchup. If you give someone with a great shooting stroke a few inches they are nearly impossible to stop because they know you can't really alter the shot.

Just my two cents.

Wow. In his press conference after game 1 Kerr said he purposely didn't double LBJ and gave Iggy the assignemnt to guard him 1 on 1 in game 1. Did the same in game 2 as well. I guess I should ask you now, are you braindead or just trolling???

Lebron still got his, wasnt pretty. But the point is he will give Lebron the jumpshot bc he knows he has help when he drives. Delly has no help 1-on-1 with Klay, who is mainly a jumpshooter. It's definitely not the same, but Lebron is the best, you're right

I think they listed Spud Webb at 5'10 at one time. That boy was barely 5'8

I don't even care so much about the iggy/lebron vs klay/delly mismatch dilemma. I think Iggy is a much better defender than Delly. I don't think thats the argument.

I'm just trying to talk about why I think the Klay/Delly matchup is such a huge mismatch. Delly is best at guarding small, quick guards and being pesky. Thats about the extent of his defensive prowess

Really?? He isn't a jump shooter? Maybe you should look at his stats again. And, Iggy did defend against his jumper at the end of game 1....in case you don't remember. This is too funny.

Hell if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. All in know is Delly was tough on Rose and he was tough on Curry last night. He matches up better on those smaller guys, than on a bigger slasher/shooter like Klay.

But i'm callin BS on Delly being 6'4 200. Someone go weigh and measure him!
