Yah know.....

Maybe this is the way it had to happen for LeBron. Maybe LeBron putting it all on his back like he could not do in '07 and truly carrying this team by himself was how it was meant to be. Maybe for him to truly exercise his past demons in Cleveland and to truly regain what he once lost here- he had to do it this way.

Maybe this is the way it was meant to be.

I dont know. The Cavs could lose the next four games and render this victory inconsequential. But if they can pull it off---- maybe LeBron gives this city its first championship in 50+ years by carrying the team on his back and not doing it with oodles of help that his detractors like to cite.

Maybe....

Definitely possible. Even if the Cavs just run put of gas and lose the next 3, it wouldn't take to much away from what they've already accomplished, imo. These first 2 games almost feel like 7.

Yeah no doubt, but you have to trust your teammates in that situation. That off balanced shot Bron likes off 1 leg ain't gonna get it done. He needs to get to the elbow of the free throw line or somewhere he likes and take the shot if he can, if not you have to trust the open guy.

What's really amazing is this team is in year 1. That's so hard for a team to do with a 1st year head coach, but Lebron did it with the Heat and lost their first year so maybe he learned a few things.

What's really weird is that losing Love and Kyrie has hurt offensively, but IMO Dellavadoob and Tristin are better on defense and know their roles/do the little things on both ends of the court. However the offense has to come from somewhere..

Yeah, defense was considered a Cavs weakness coming in, but they've turned it into a strength. I agree though, they're going to need to find some offense. I don't think they can count on holding the Warriors to 87 points to win the series for them.

Defense wins championships, but at some point you have to be able to score.

Mozgov has stepped up. Shumpert and JR will have to be better. I am not expecting a whole lot out of Delly, but if GS isnt focusing on him on offense maybe he can be a factor. James Jones is another key guy, he is a great 3 point shooter but he is so long he can get his shot and even then mid-range if he ever pump fakes lol.
It's crazy we had a Miller sighting, he was what 0-1 and they took him out. Havent seen him all year lol

Maybe just another teaser en route to eventual disappointment?

Yeah, without Love and Kyrie, more players will need to step up like Mozgov. Because of Lebron, they don't need guys to "go off," just to up their averages a little. Guys who average 10 points need to get 12-14, guys who average 6 points need to get 8-10.

A good example is Tristan. The guys defense and rebounding have been at an elite level, but he has to quit missing those "chippies" that he seems to miss 2-3 times per game. If he does that, I don't think either game goes to OT and Cleveland may be up 2-0.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Last Friday everyone was talking about how the Cavs were "In Serious Trouble"! and how they didn't think the Cavs would win a single game in this series. Now, after last night, all I've heard on Sportscenter for the past 10 hours is how Cleveland is "Chasing History" and how they're geniuses by restructuring the team to get the win. The "experts" who discuss these games and expected outcomes are as qualified as any one of us sitting on our couches and the media doesn't create intrigue, they just ride the coat-tails of the story after it happened.

To be fair, even the most die hard, homeristic Cavs fans were pretty much hoping that the Cavs could just keep from getting blown out and maybe not get swept. The Cavs play in the first 2 games is what has changed the narrative.

Not everyone. I saw what they did to my Bulls with no Kyrie/Love. They made us use all of the shot clock and we took a lot of bad shots because of it. I really didn't think Kyrie was that hurt TBH. :burt:

GSW fans have been telling us all season, about how much better Kerr is than Mark Jackson. Now's his chance to truly show it. He needs to make adjustments to keep the Cavs from turning them into the jump shooting team we've been seeing.

I agree with all of this. That's why I say people need to quit crying about the refs and talk about the actual game. The Cavs are doing some pretty amazing stuff, we've already seen 2 firsts in NBA history (first time the first 2 title games went to OT, Cavs first ever finals game win) and people are crying about the refs instead.

The foul with Curry, unfortunately for JR, was the right call. Like JVG said, that rule needs to be changed. To me, it's like that Reggie Miller leg kick. That needed to be addressed, but while guys could get away with it, they used it. Same thing needs to happen with what JR was called for. Make it illegal. If a defender jumps straight up, the offensive player shouldn't be able to jump into him.

I definitely agree with you that there are some amazing things going on. The refs didn't decide the outcome of either game, and that's not what I've ever tried to imply. I'm pointing out more of the "WTF" calls went against Cleveland than GS, especially last night. Maybe it's just me, but the two instances with Green stick out much more because on a jump ball, the two jumpers are supposed to be watched very closely, and each time he got away with blatantly holding down a Cavs player, and both times GS came away with the ball.

GenJac has a point though. As Lakers fans know, alot of the pundits do indeed change their approach just to appear sage-like even though many of them have as much of chance to be accurate as everyone else.

Does anyone who wastes their time listening to their blabber actually take it seriously?

It's nothing more than people usually stating the supposed obvious, offering opinions with no repercussions, and just like you said, totally change their opinion after each outcome.

Sometimes heart and tenacity is the equal of talent. And "Deli" proved that last night. Cavs with the injury issues put him on the best (MVP) player the Warriors have closest to his height...Thompson would ave been a gross mismatch height wise. They took a chance that if one Splash Brother got his and they kept the other one down with the other role players getting their usual they had a chance. Worked out last night. With JR Smith you have to take the good and bad. and last night they got the stupid. Getting one of those games was huge...Curry is such a joy to watch. It will be interesting what they'll/he'll do to become more of a factor going forward. LeBron had his usual high volume mix of amazing and not so amazing...He's one of the very few who can just keep it coming to rise above ill-advised passes and shots, missed layups and foul shots to still dominate a game. something to watch he has some athletic vehicle...Was surprised they won last night. Very gut check effort from them. Warriors have to try and return the favor. There has been some eyebrow raising officiating. Been But when really isn't there. Part of the game whatever game you play. Usually evens out. as far as Curry bad shooting night? He's 59% uncontested from 3, 33% contested. Deli's good "D" night was a greater factor than "just being off".

not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined at this time last year the Cavs would be in the Finals and Mathew Dellavadova would be getting tons of national recognition after shutting down the league MVP in his own house.

Unbelievable.

what crazy, fun, ride it has been.

Just giving credit where credit is due. That's what you do, instead of making up excuses like a snot nosed child.

Cleveland/Dellavadoober did the same thing against my Bulls. I've the seen the movie before.

amazing...

do tell what on God's green Earth you're talking about:scratch:, THEN maybe i'll acknowledge it...

So, with Love out, and Erving out, the Cavs were expected to win a game against GS in Oakland?
No, they were expected to have a poor shooting night, as was mentioned in the post I quoted. :tsk:
