Am I the only one that thinks this guy is nothing special.
I watched him play a couple of times and there was never a "wow" factor whatsoever.
Did I just watch the wrong games.
Obviously you watched the wrong games. There were definitely a ton of wows going on in the ND-ASU game. Unfortunately, they were not good wows.

No. There were more like, "Wow! I didn't know I could drink that much!"

So after spending months with a QB guru the very next opportunity to play he's "indecisive, holds on to the ball too long, doesn't protect the ball" ( coming from a ND fan). But he's a "top 10 QB" . Yeah OK.
As for the AZ State game you don;t get credit for scoring when they other team is sitting on a big as lead that you caused by you throwing interceptions and fumbling.

Do me a favor and find a post where I said Golson is a top ten QB? That should tie you up forever so you don't pollute our board with this stupidity, especially since I never made that claim. Golson is a great athelete, wtih a great arm, but a lot of his fumbles come from sitting in the pocket a spilt second too long and not protecting the ball. He did that in the 2012 season too. A lot of times when he found the open receiver down field, he'd be off on his timing.

As for the AZ St. Game. I wouldn't blame ND if AZ St. decided to sit on a lead at the beginning of the second half. All season long it was a tale of two QB's. He'd be a train wreck turnover machine one minute, and a great talent the next. Take Syracuse, turns the ball over what, 4 times, but then nearly sets an NCAA record for consecutive completions. Foruntately for him, they were playing Syracuse.

He's not a top ten QB, but he's talented enough. Where Golson was invaluable in my opinion is in the two minute drill. He was stellar in the last drives against FSU, Stanford, even the bowl game last year, going all the way back to OU and Pitt in 2012. I don't know if Zaire could do what Golson did against Stanford last year.

LSU, Wisconsin - either way Alabama get's to beat the hell outta him again.

He was probably the only bright spot in that game, actually.

Wait what about the SEC academic rule that I thought came into play with SCar? Man this whole thing is such a circus right now.

There is that. I guess he has to get a waiver and that is quite difficult from what I have read.

Also read today that Jimbo Fisher negotiated with EG. Did not guarantee a starting job. Only the ability to compete for it. Do not know if EG is looking for a guarantee or not.

Do me a favor and read comments from ND fans on this thread where him being top ten is mentioned.

I said he has the potential to be a top 10 QB next year if he limits his turnovers. If he doesn't he'll be a 2nd string QB. For all his turnover issues he still produced 37 total TD's and over 3,700 total yards. He just did that while also having 24 turnovers. IF he cuts his turnovers even in half and produces the same production from last year, there's no question he'll have top 10 stats for next year.

It's true. If Everett Golson posts statistics in the top ten of every category, he will most definitely be a top ten QB.
