well my thought is what makes you think collins would be attracted to DC in the 1st place ?

we have finished last 5 of 6 years .

we have been in turmoil since the clinton administration

in the past 2 years we have drafted 5 young o/lineman , 4 who play your position and your main competition is scherf while in dallas its doug "i should play for "free

dallas has a winning team that you have a chance to start with and has super bowl aspirations we have 6-10 aspirations and hopefully can pull ourselves out of the cellar

they have tony romo at qb we have joe webb part 2

the hard truth some of you dont want to hear is we are amongst the worst operated franchises in the NFL and perhaps in history until proven otherwise while the cowboys still carry the allure of being "america's team " and they are very much near where collins grew up
Exactly. Well said.

I'm not too worried about it. Reminds me of the team that had T.O., Pacman, and that D Tackle from Chicago that used get in a lot of trouble. That was the year they did Hard Knocks and flamed out.

This is a long rebuild. Scot is trying to establish a culture around here. He said today on the radio that he was trying to get as many big, tough guys as he could. He basically said our roster was small and soft. I agree.

Grabbing Gregory and Collins are moves you make when you are close, when you don't have a 2nd year coach coming off a 4-12 season.

The Skins haven't had a clear leader since London left. Not sure who would reign these guys in if need be.

Good for Dallas, but I won't lose any sleep over it. I don't expect a team full of choir boys. The 80's Skins had Dexter, Wilburn, George Rogers, Timmy Smith, etc....all had there fair share of issues. But those teams also had a strong coach in Gibbs, and vets like Monte Colman, Green, and Monk.

It just depends on the lockerroom. I don't think we are there yet. I vote for what Scott is trying to do. Ground up, quality, tough guys.

I agree Skinsdad and its because we make bad moves. There was no reason we should not have used a 7th round pick on Collins. The worst case would have been that he refused to sign and thus, we would have prevented him from going to a good team....like the Cowboys. But we went with a guy who we could have signed as a UDFA.

The problem is just because we throw draft picks at the OLine doesn't mean that we are solving the problem. The Cowboys have drafted multiple first round picks on their OLine and now look where they are? We are throwing 3rd and 4th rounders at the OLine and so far it hasn't worked. I don't like the Kojo pick because he never reached his potential at Alabama and has injury problems. He didn't even start until his Junior year. I love the Scheriff pick but he is really all we did this offseason to address our most glaring weakness. Callahan will help of course, but he can't get out there and play.

We just don't have success with the OLine. We were allegedly going to draft AJ Cann but he was drafted right before, then Tre Jackson went right before Kojo. We still have Chester who is literally the worst starting RG in the league as our starting RG. I still don't think we did a good enough job on addressing the OLine. We need multiple 1st rounders to fix the mess. Bottom line, we should have drafted Collins with the 7th rounder and signed Reiter as an UDFA as we all know he would have been available.

Love it. This what I kind of predicted earlier. People already kind of badmouthing SM moves without even seeing the product on the field. Also - people wanting everything to be fixed in one year - doesn't work like that.

In addition - people need to stop bringing up picks from previous years - they have nothing really to do with the current FO. Let's all be a little patient, stop worrying about other teams & see how this all unfolds. I would think that fans would be much more thrilled than say last season where everything was strictly based on hope. At least now you have someone with a proven track record running the show. We will see.

Yeah this pisses me off. And was there any doubt the Boys would sign him? Sure Jerry is taking risks. But what risk is there here? He got a first round talent for free and if the guy is dirty he walks away with no harm done. Why the Helll didn't our team do this?

JJ also stole Randy Gregoy in round 2. Sure he's a bit of a risk too. But teams sometimes go too overboard in their paranoia. Which is why Hall of Fame talent such as Warren Sapp and Randy Moss got snapped up in the mid first round.

There is no risk. I know Scotty wanted to maintain a certain culture, but boy is this a bit of a punch in the gut.

Thats not necessarily true. The Chiefs fixed everything pretty much in 1 year under Reid.

Also while I think McCloughan has a great eye for talent, lets not appoint the guy the best GM in the history of the game. If he was perfect, the 49ers would have done more to keep him and not push him out. I'm thrilled we got him but lets not act like he is the best GM in the league.

Skinsdad Wow what a refreshing honest look at Redskins Football from a really hardcore fan
Washington has been a mess for awhile and I am thinking maybe that Snyder has finally decided write the checks and get out of the football kitchen. The Redskins have started to quietly assemble a solid football team that if the recipe is followed by the numbers could become very competitive in the next couple of years.

The arrow is pointing up. The Team still has some serious ? marks that may or may not work out for y'all but I will not point fingers at them. All in all a very productive offseason for redskins fans to enjoy.

Cheers on your offseason so far :suds:

Dallas... the house of ill repute. If they sign anymore potential convicts Sharpton might just buy season tickets. Can you imagine the talk inside that locker room? "Who'd you shoot last night? "Slow night man, just beat the f--k out of my girlfriend instead... you score on that killer weed? Nah, ended up lifting some panties from the mall after I drove drunk to get there."

Listen, they can have those questionable guys. Sooner or later it's all gonna come crashing down on em.

Hello Reptec good to see you keeping tabs on my Boys :D

Guys lets not forget we are a rebuilding team. So we might not have even been a blip on the radar. He went some place where he is assured of starting, to a team in win now mode. With a QB who all but guaranteed a Super Bowl appearance this year.

Good for Collins he found a home. Now like all Cowboys, Fuckem!!

Wow this place has a cool Cowboys fan? They are a rare breed indeed.

Seriously it's bad enough that we didn't sign him, I guess I kind of get that. But for him to go to Dallas after they stole Gregory and of course landed the woman puncher, that's a lot of talent going to the wrong team

That's how I feel, I'm not upset that we didn't get him because that was never going to happen. But the cowboys? Come onnnn

The issue is what he really wants. Is it money? If so, he'd be better off on a team with cap space in a couple of years that could really use him. That way, he can leverage the team into paying him serious jack just like Trent will do to us given the lack of talent we've got other than Scherff on our o-line. If you want to win or be part of a standout o-line, I can see why Dallas would be a fit. But Romo's days in Dallas are numbered. By the time Collins comes up for a contract, Romo may be out and the Cowboys will be fit to taking a steep decline if they can't fix their QB situation.

Everyone appears to be making the major assumption that this guy won't get in trouble & not be able to play next season. Teams didn't avoid him just for the heck of it. I am not necessarily stating that the move was a bad one by the Cowboys (especially since they appear to want to sign as many criminals as possible). However - stating things like they are set with this guy & at this position are very premature.

Well, at this point, it's sounding more like teams were afraid of what could be more so than what is. He's not a suspect, turns out the kid wasn't his, and he passed the polygraph. I mean, I guess it's possible he had a friend order a hit on a girl, but even that's looking like a stretch. More than anything, it appears a tragic event occurred to someone he knew at the worst possible time. I guess it worked out for him though. He got to pick his team, and I believe he's basically getting 2nd round money with a chance at big bucks in 3 years. Things could be much worse.

No Insult intended. I have long petitioned we give Texas back, hence I refer to them as Mexico's team. :)
