Wrong. AP has already indicated that he would be willing to restructure his deal to leave his current situation...or did you miss that part also?...
Did I say restructure? Did I say anything about cap numbers? Peterson is due $28M over the next 2 years in salary and work-out bonuses. If you have a link quoting him or his agent where either of them says he'll accept less over the next 2 years to facilitate a trade then post it. Correcting things people haven't said isn't going to get you very far.

Can I ask you a serious question? Are you in your 20s age wise?

As emotionally invested in this as you are, I often wonder if you are still a teenager. The arrogance of your assumptions leads me to believe you're still a young fella who has yet to be humbled by life.

Either that, or you're just plain stupid.

Yup, AP is washed up now?

:L
Closing in on washed up, yes. Yes a 30 year old running back. He's not what he once was, and the downhill slide will pick up steam over the next two years

Listen, if the Vikes management are foolish enough (if AP has told them that he wants out and will not be a happy camper if not traded, and this is not just all about him getting more guaranteed money from them), to hold onto to him and expect greater results in their running game again, and with the progression of Bridgewater, not to mention more team distractions and a media circus heading into season, then so be it. Let them deal with that reality when it comes, but if AP is a man of his word and will cause them to pay a price for making him play for a team he doesn't want to be with, they will have only made themselves look like the fools for passing on his trade value when they had they had the chance to optimize it (before/during the draft), and will he only force them to deal him later...only now at a significantly reduced trading price I'm sure.

It's all just about what AP really wants here imo. As far as the draft goes and no AP trade happening, I'm good with it as long as they can hit on a franchise type back in the 2nd round round of this draft (with Gurley and Gorden gone), that can produce right away (in pass protection and being their workhorse back) lol. Their team identity depends on this. Otherwise, it will be just another long season for Tony Romo and Company. I actually want to see Romo win a championship now, but if cap hits and being "financially prudent" is all what this team is about now, they are living in cap salary dream.

Now did i call you any names, or just asked you a serious question?? Lol. I'm rarely on here. Just decided to respond to some ignorant posts here today that's all. I didn't even bump this thread up, someone else did lol. Trust me, I'm good with whatever happens....won't effect my life one way or the other, unlike you clowns that live on this board.

Yet I'm the immature one here right?

I don't see how saying "Either that, or your just plain stupid" is any more name calling than what you've been doing, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Now, about a AP "Restructer". You do understand restructers more often than not simply adds $$$ further back in a contract with more of it guaranteed.

You are asking to mortgage the team 5-10 years down the road on the HOPE we win a SB in the next two years.

No I don't think AP nor Romo plays past 2017 and won't be shocked if they are done sooner.

In 2018 with no more restructure the Boys can part ways with Romo for about 9 million so you could b right who knows. But for the next 2 years even if he has a career ending injury he gets put on IR because of the 50 million cap hit if it escalated. If I am reading the numbers right.

My timeline beliefs is I don't think Romo nor AP can play in 2018 period, and won't be surprised if their careers are done sooner. RB's rarely play in their 30's and Romo's back has taken a beating. Physically I don't see them in uniform much longer.

I'm not sure of Romos 2016 and/or 17 cap numbers but we could be cap wise responsible for that money with him no longer playing.

So, it's ok to spend a high draft pick on Coleman or some other complete unknown rookie RB (ie. Felix Jones), but not on AP? Because there is a good chance that Gurley and/or Gordon will be gone by 27? The best RB of our generation that can possibly break records behind this OL?...all because we don't want to pay him, because it's really not about a high draft pick obviously if you are ok with Gurley or Gordon, and is so willing to risk Romo and this team's regression with no sustained running game or team identity if they completely whiff on a high round RB in this draft?? DMac and Randall as their workhorses now??

Makes complete sense lol.

By the way, stop with the dramatics, it may only take a 2nd rounder to get AP if no teams are willing to give up a 1st, which is what I would expect considering APs contract anchor... and the little time they would have to restructure it either before or during the draft.

Wrong. AP has already indicated that he would be willing to restructure his deal to leave his current situation...or did you miss that part also? He is not living in the real world with the rest of us if he seriously believes that ANY team (including the Vikes) will trade for his current deal as is and guarantee that kind of money for a 30 year old RB in today's marketplace. Secondly, if the Vikes want to keep AP and and/or AP decides to return for whatever reason, he will definitely want some guaranteed money moving forward and some security to make him happy. He is just not going to risk getting injured and losing all that future guaranteed money on essentially a one year "we can cut you at any time" contract. The remaining two years of AP's current contract is just contract landfill and is not guaranteed, so why would AP expect to see that money?? Doesn't make any sense, he will have to restructure a new deal with either his current team or any team that he gets traded to obviously. AP can certainly say that I will only restructure for a team I want to go to, not to a team that offers you the best draft pick in return. So now what does the Vikes do? Pay a disgruntled player $13M for one season and roll the dice that he doesn't cause a team disturbance even further after just being told what to do by his team? Good luck.

I think AP does have some leverage here, and teams will definitely offer AP guaranteed money lol, you're delusional if you don't really believe that.

Minny can ask for anything they want lol, but in reality, it's what teams are willing to offer for him (for all those reasons you've just alluded to here), and what team AP is willing to restructure his deal with. Does the Vikes really want more of the same circus heading into next season with an now openly disgruntled AP, or do they cut their losses now and get what they can for him?? The best RB of our generation for playing reasons, is really only like a 29 year old RB with fresh legs having not played last season, which is a huge plus imo. Gordon has had how many carries last season in college, and will be expected to carry the load if drafted in Dallas. Not a good thing. Gurley is coming off an ACL injury and you just don't know when he will be ready physically as well as mentality. Then you have a real drop off of second tier RBs in this draft that will be expected to be this team's workhorse back from day 1, we know it won't be DMac with his injury history, with all of these rookies also having to learn the pro game as well in their first season quickly on the fly to help maintain this team's running identity (not to mention limit Romo's picks under pressure while also limiting our defensive exposure on the field). You are just asking a lot of a rookie here to make your team a serious contender. Something I'm not so confident that's even possible, yet you yahoos here are so ready to make it already a given lol.

I can definitely see 2-3 more productive years remaining in a freak of nature like AP as it proved that he is not normal coming back in less than a year from an ACL tear and running for over 2000 yards with a team not nearly as good as this one is now. Think about it, you are only getting a rooie RB in the 2nd round for less financially, but only with one more year of expected contract time. It is very possible that ANY RB rookie drafted can be on his way to another team in four years.
I don't think you understand how it works. The Vikings have said that they WILL NOT restructure AP's contract to accomodate a trade. Why? Because it would involve a signing bonus to make it "cap friendly" for the receiving team. That signing bonus would count as DEAD CAP SPACE for the Vikings.

Unless they can find a team WITH the AVAILABLE CAP SPACE to accept his CURRENT contract, no deal can be made. Has nothing to do with re-strucuring after the trade. What that means is... the team getting AP has to already have the room for his contract or the league WON'T ACCEPT it.

And what is this ish about "if AP is a man of his word" crap...? He has never officially stated that he wants out. He has only said he wasn't comfortable. Players posture like this all the time, every year. He can make it about how he felt the team treated him last year (which in and of itself is a joke), but the truth of the matter is, he wants guaranteed money. AP is and always has been about himself, and his pursuit of greatness. Go back and read some of his comments from years past. He wants 2 things: The single season and all time rushing records. He can threaten to hold out, and he can give less effort... all that will do is hurt him even further. Do you really think he is willing to risk that?

Again - I've been fairly consistent in whether or not he plays here. I simply don't GAF. He made his bed. He now has to lie in it. He needs to "be a man" and suffer the consequences.

Really dude??..that's your comeback? My mom hates me? Get over it dude, your team is light years away from reaching any SB... AP or no AP. Keep the dream alive though. Maybe one day that piss-ant franchise of yours will win something. Cling to the AP dream as long as you can though, God knows you need every breath of hope that you can muster lol...

Praying for him to return? Tell ya what... I'll bet you a permanent ban that if no one trades for AP, his ass will be playing for the Vikings rather than retire. Bet?

Let's see here... when someone provides a smart response with sound reasoning, you result to juvenile retorts lacking in substance, and you have the audacity to question their response to your juvenile antics?

Provide something smart for once. You have yet to do so in any of the threads that you've participated in with regards to AP. You've constantly lol'd your way through here with nothing more than bird cage lining and insults towards your Cowboy fan brethren.

I'm sure you think you're smart, witty and a legen in your own mind...but, I digress.
