WEAKNESSES
Needs to fill out his frame or will struggle with the bull rush at the next level. Feet are only above average and he may have limited range in pass protection. Does not always take proper angles when run blocking.

Any one want to HAZARD a guess who this is?? So... you were saying??

There is no way that Scherff has the same talent as Jake Matthews. Cmon Shark now you are really stretching.

This Kid has won the outland award.. .you know the think given to the BEST O-lineman in college football?? He has played both OG, RT AND LT, so he is also versatile. And no one has said he cant pass block, but they have said he will need to improve at t he next level if he is going to play LT. Good thing we dont need one of those.

that's bs shark b/c if he had no pass blocking problems why wouldn't Jax take him? yes is versatility is huge. but scouts don't like his pass blocking skills that is why he will be pushed down draft boards. If he was the prospect that Matthews or Robinson was he would be so hyped up.

What do you think of Cooper at #5???

Plus all the team drafting behind us. Jets, Falcons, bears, Giants, and Rams all need tackles. What if Scherff gets by these teams. Would I have proven my point then?

Dean... correct me if Im wrong.. but werent you leading the Morgan the red Sea Moses in the Second round charge last year?? Forgive me if that makes me doubt your eye for offensive line talent just a little.

And like I said bro, offer still stands. I got $50 says he is off the board before #10.

is very possible. all the teams from 3-10 need a olineman It would be hilarious if one of those teams doesn't draft him.

Just saying if we had to stay at 5 and had to pick between Scherff and Fowler I would pick Scherff a lot of talented OLB's in rounds 2-3

Yes I was big on Moses. Im not writing him off after one year. Plus he got hurt. Im thinking about that bet. I think he goes to the Giants at #9. But my point is you think Scherff is a better prospect than Robinson and Matthews. If that is true why would he slip out of the top 5? Jax, raiders, and Skins could all use lineman.

Country if he is the prospect you think he is why isn't he the pick at #3 or #4? OT talent always trumps any position besides QB in the draft.

no way the skins take Scherff over Fowler. You guys are forgetting that Chester is still on the roster.

I never said he was a better prospect than either of them. I did say and I do think he is worthy of the #5 and a better pick than ANY of the pass rushers linked to us at t he moment. And you have to remember that much like fans, pundits are always much more excited to predict the "Game Changer" in the top five. The only time they predict O-lineman is when a team does in fact have a desperate need. And the Jags get a mulligan this year because most think both QBs will go off the board. And i freely admit they would be dumb as fuck to pass on Williams for Scherff. He is one of the three players I actually thinks is worthy of a top 3 pick from this draft after all.

But is Scerff is the prospect that you think he is the jags would pass Wiliams for him b/c they signed back Allaua and paid huge money for Ordrick in FA. So there is no reason why the Jags should pass on him. I like willaims too but a dominant OT holds more water than a dominate 3-4 DE. Just my opinion.

Please dude... Williams is the best player in this draft.. no question. The Bucs and Titans are penciled in for QBs because of NEED. And Oakland gave up a grand total of 28 sacks last year... with a rookie for most of the year. they dont NEED O-line. They do NEED a WR though.

Let me put that into perspective for you.... Oakland gave up 1/3 the sacks of the Jags, and 30 less than we did with a ROOKIE QB... they dont NEED O-line.

Sorry bro, you dont pass on the best player in the draft because of need on the O-line. Add to it the Jag D-line is long in the tooth. Im in Jags country. But it would not shock me actually if they took Scherff. And would that prove my point?? Just curious??

Kinda like that who Benjamin debate last year?? :)

If the jags take Scherff then yes you will win this argument. but the Jags have Jockel. He was a high pick. Did he get hurt? then the Ordick signing doesn't make sense if you know that you are going to get Williams at #3. If im the Raiders and I have a chance to draft an elite OT then yes I would take him. There Ot's are average.

Dude.. thier average OTs gave up less sacks than 70% of the league protecting a ROOKIE.. .get it.. .a ROOKIE.

James Jeffcoat won the Ted Hendricks Award for the best defensive lineman in 2014 and lead the NCAA in sacks. Yet, he went undrafted and is wallowing on the bottom of the OLB depth chart for the woeful Redskins defense. Those awards are ones given by the media; they aren't assessments made by pro scouts or personnel men like McCloughan. When people like Peter King decide to put their jobs on the line based on scouting profiles they put out and awards they vote on, I'll begin to respect them. Until then, let's hear from people like McCloughan, Ozzie Newsome, and Ron Wolf.

From all the Scherff talk, I fancied you as a guy similar to the pasty white Iowa farm boy that is Scherff. :-)

Actually he has the same Arm length as Jake Matthews who is a current starting LT in this league. So Im not buying the whole short arms theory. I think you guys are too hung up on .. .you dont draft a RT with the top five pick. This guy has been billed as being able to play any position on the o-line. And picking the next Orakpo at 5 is questionable at best. Just going for the sexy pick at worst.

Jake Matthews Draft Profile NFL.com

Matthews was picked at #6 by the way.

Matthews may have short arms but has other upside that Scherff doesn't. He's not the greatest LT out there, but he does play LT, which is better than RT, which Scherff can't play, and, of course, RG, which is where Scherff is slotted for.
