You realize the Jags who pick third gave up more sacks than ANY team in the NFL last year right?? IN fact, they gave up the 2nd highest total number of sacks in the last ten years. Why wouldnt a team that gave up 71 sacks consider taking the best O-lineman in the draft ahead of us or NY?? Flip that and they were tied for 5th in sacks last year.

Your stats are right but if MM goes #2 the Jags are not passing on Williams. If Williams goes #2 the Jags either trade out or take the next best defensive player in this draft which is Fowler. Ive been saying this for months now the Jags hold the keys to the trade down if MM slips.

Like I said, I think the Jags have a good chance at taking Scherff. And I could care fucknot if he was the next Ray Lewis. Because the reality is, when you NEED to fix the O-line and you take a pass rusher.. its a luxury pick. Or the sexy highlights pick to get every one excited. a ten sack season where we finish 3-13 again just doesnt do it for me bro. Been there and done that a multitude of times over the last 15 years.

NOpe.. I take a guy like Zack Martin over Von Miller any day of the week though. Especially when the guys we currently have on the right side of the line are hot and garbage.

The Fowler, Shelton or Ray picks are all sexy over substance. Because I dont care which QB you are hoping works out. Neither of them will if we go into the season with our current RT and RG. So for my money we draft Scherff if he is there, or trade down and hope the giants dont take him or that Peat is still there if the giants do in fact take Scherff. We can get a situational pass rusher/depth player in the 3rd.

I dont think its dicey. I think he is gone if we trade behind the Giants and Rams. One of the two WILL take him. So the real question becomes do we think Peat or Collins are close enough in skill to give up Scherff for an extra pick??

You know my thinking on that. I would much rather have peat and an extra 1st pick that just scherff. It's not even close.

Problem with that is, what happens if we trade back and Schreff, Peat and Collins come off the board. Would you really risk going into the season with Chester and Compton starting just to get an extra 3rd round pick?? Getting this year right is going to set the tone going forward. And I think that starts with fixing the line more so than having an extra pick at this point. Sure that pick could be the next Russell Wilson.... or the next Josh Leribeus. Lets not pretend like our new GM has never missed on a pick after all.

i would risk it. As I've stated before, there are 6 OTs that graded out with a 1st round grade. We can still get a very good OT. Remember, we are looking for a RT, not a LT. very good is fine for a RT.

I wouldn't do it for less than 2 1sts. If we are staring at Mariota, someone will give us 2 1s. Unfortunately, one may be next year.
