Fairly defensible position. I can't blame the Cardinals for going all in on a SB either though.

Oh sure. I can understand the reasoning. But the problem is the don't currently have the cap to bring AP in. Which means they need to either cut other plays or restructure a bunch of contracts. Not saying they can't do it but to me that is a lot of rework to bring in 30 year old RB with a lot of wear on the tread.

AP best put his hurt feelings aside and get things settled with MN. This is f-ing total BS on his part. He is the one who did the wrong and he needs to grow up and accept responsibility for his actions and apologize to the Vikings organization and fans for putting them thru this shit storm.

Seattle just gave Lynch a shit Tom of money. Same age as AP, same miles on the tires, and Lynch is a more physical runner. Was that dumb move for Seattle considering Wilsons contract is coming up?

I didn't say it was dumb. I just think it is risky. Lynch had arguably his best season with the Seahawks last year. AP was playing Xbox all season.

Their salary cap situations are very different. I don't really know what their plan is for Wilson and Wagner but they have had basically two seasons to plan for Wilson's contract.

Have the Cardinals been planning to bring in AP for a long time? Or is this just an opportunity?

AP is a great RB but shouldn't the Cardinals be more concerned about finding a starting QB?
I love this rationale. Tell me where there is a better QB option than Palmer and Stanton. Palmer is 16-6 as a Cardianal starter. 10 TD's and 3 pics before he got injured last year. I'll wait.

Obviously it is an opprtunity. The Cardinals window to win is now. If they can bring in AP, bring him in. Why gamble with a rookie mid rounder or a rooking coming off a torn knee (Gurley) if they can get AP. They may have to settle for a rookie, but I still say AP is the best option to win now if they can get him..

At what cost? Restructuring his contract so that you are now screwing your cap for 4 years?

If AP gets cut then I completely get it. But trading for him and taking on that salary makes no sense to me.

Peterson goes to the Cardinals, they'll challenge Seattle for the NFC berth in the Super bowl. AP's got a lot to prove next year.

Don't understand this. Why would you give a 30 year old runningback who has 2K+ carries, injured past, and been out of football for a year a high round pick?

ESPECIALLY when this draft class is LOADED at runningback (not just Gurley/Gordon but mid round as well).

Go for it Arizona, as a division rival it would please me nothing more to see them waste draft picks on AP.
Because the Cardinals window to win is now. Why did the Seahawks pay Lynch a shit ton of money as opposed to going out and getting a rookine RB in this LOADED draft? Because Lynch is a beast just like AP. He give you the opportunity to win now.

BTW- Peterson had one major injury in his career. The year after that injury he was league MVP and nealy rushed for 2,000 yards. And that speaks to your next comment about being out of football for a year. League MVP when he was out the previous year.

How many years did it take Seattle to win a SB? Well tripple that with the Cards and add a big fat "still waiting". The Cards are going all in if they pick up AP which I have no problem with .

I think I've changed my mind, looking at the cap space Cards have from 2016 on, looks like the cap room will be plenty. Also with Palmer and Fitz aging, it would be glorious for Cards fans if they top it off with a SB win. Might be a bit of a pinch in 2015, but moves to fix that can always be done. Might of been better to do the AP deal before signing some those other FAs.

If the Cards make this happen the battle for the NFL west will be epic, provided Palmer stays healthy.

Hey I get that completely. And I get the willingness to take big risks. I just don't know if that is the risk I would take. But I get it.

Not putting AZ or AP down but Lynch had maybe the best year of his career last year. You can't compare AP in that regard.

Sure as long as the Seahawks come out the winners, all kidding aside, it would make every game played by these two ultra important. Not that they aren't important anyway.

I can understand going after AP if he is released. Giving up a 2nd or more to inherit his current contract. Understanding that....... Not so much.

If Arizona offered a 1st rounder, I'd jump all over it if I were the Vikings. Draft Gurley or Gordon in the 1st round, then have your entire draft to fill holes, with extra cap room going forward. AP didn't play for them last year anyway

Sorry to sound redundant in my previous post. I often post a reply without reading the thread to the end.
I agree that Az's window is NOW. Just like when we traded for Percy, our FO thought it is now time and he might be able to push the team over the top.
I also think they should get AP if Arians thinks he can still produce at a high level, which I would think he could do.
