Hank, I don't know about the Isner-like slide, if anything, I think Milos is getting better.

I remain optimistic...

He still has those huge feet....

The only thing I'll say is Roger has been playing well so it surprises me.

Mirka must have ridden him hard the night before.

Milos Raonic just beat Roger Federer in straight sets (7-6, 7-5). Not too shabby for a guy who can't move and has no return game.

Edit: 45 winners to 21 unforced errors and the only break of serve registered in the match.

NO!!!!!

Milos won? Against one of the all-time greats.

GARBAGE!!

Milos is going to London as Nishikori just defeated Ferrer. Congrats to Milos!

Hopefully a nice confidence boost for Milos. I kind of think that once you prove to yourself what's possible, it becomes a lot easier to replicate.

woot!! Milos through to the final in Paris after defeating Berdych in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 7-5). Broke Berdych in the final game to win the match.

It's on right now (Sportsnet One) and there will be an encore showing later today. Joker took the first set 6-2.

Damnit. My wife convinced me to downgrade the cable package. No Sportsnet One for me.

Oh well, a great run in Paris ends at the hands of the world #1 (6-2, 6-3). Still, great job on making the final 8 Milos.

Beating Federer and Berdych in consecutive matches is a great feat. So is finishing the season in the top 8. Maybe his game isn't ideal for winning a major (compared to some other up and comers) but in terms of accomplishments, Milos has been steadily improving and I still don't see how some can be so pessimistic about somebody posting the results he does at his age...

Dacks, I think part of it is that his matches are not that aesthetically pleasing to watch (not a lot of long rallies especially when he is serving up ace after ace). He's never going to be fleet of foot, but his movement and consistency continues to improve. Aslo, I think his on-court demeanour puts people off, for the most part he keeps his emotions in check. I do find it funny though that he is the best tennis player this country has ever produced and by all accounts, he gets more love outside Canada than within his native land.

are you using this beard as representative?
because I haven't run into many other condescending opinions otherwise.

/we are all Milos. :canada:
//2nd only to we are all Genie (especially in that sassy little polarbear outfit she was wearing for halloween.)

I need to stay off of the TSN comments section, puck, it's a mouthbreather convention in there.

It's easy.

I never root for Berdych, but I was on Saturday.

And I never root for Serby, but I was on Sunday.

The groups for London are set:

Group A
Novak Djokovic
Stan Wawrinka
Tomas Berdych
Marin Cilic

Group B
Roger Federer
Kei Nishikori
Andy Murray
Milos Raonic

I'd say based on current form that Group B is tougher than Group A.

Well, this tennis season is over for Milos, he just couldn't find the same form in London thah he had in Paris. Too bad, but still a very good season for the young Canadian.
