Newly appointed fentanyl czar
I think it's time for the bug-eyed walrus to be axed...
Maybe, but maybe if he was given a team that didn't necessitate playing Clarke MacArthur on the first line or trade one of the game's best goalies for a rookie who had a hot streak, he would have them a little further up in the standings.
I place this on Murray far more than I do Walrusface.
It's not Bryan's fault that the owner is a cheapskate - he's done the best he can with the hand he's been given
Paul MacLean acted like a complete dickhead last season which didn't help the morale of the team and this season it's been up and down again

This is a fair enough opinion but the biggest issues really have nothing to do with MacArthur or the top line (or really the lack a TRUE top line). They've been fine in that role for most of the year.
The issue has more to do with a 37 year old Philloops getting more than 20 minutes a game; Chris Neil being put out with a 1 minute left and a goal deficit; until recently Zack Smith never being scratched despite indifferent play; the best players in a game getting only 10-12 minutes of ice-time (Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, etc.) because they're "young".
MacLean has been better at making players accountable in the last week or two, but these are the real issues with this team.
Prior to last year the Sens made the playoffs by playing everyone, including the young guys, based on how they were playing. Then last year MacLean just started throwing out veterans who were playing poorly. That carried into the early part of this year. It's terrible.
By no means am I saying this roster is ready to compete for a Cup but they need better coaching than they've been getting. Unless they want to do a quick tank, that is.![]()
Yeah i'm not sure why I glossed over Phillips/the defence in general. That is definitely a huge reason they've been so inconsistent.
It's easy to overlook when they have a superstar like Karlsson. You think Sens D = Karlsson... Ah they must be okay. But he can't do it alone.
Man, that's way too much walrus fur for a Monday morning...
you admiring yourself in the mirror again dash???
/oh you meant the picture .. my bad![]()
