Wow, Sanders is becoming a serious weapon for this offense. Incredible.

So had class tonight for 4 hours so just got done watching the game...Few things I just wanted to comment on right now.

1st--Saw some Charger fans are complaining about the officiating. I guess they missed that the Broncos had more penalties in this one. I guess they missed that our corners had gotten holding calls exactly for what their corner did to Wes Welker on the pick in the end zone. The Fumble on the kick off was a close play but from what I understand about a fumble is it has to be completely jarred loose for it to be considered a fumble. The ball was just starting to move when the elbow went down but had not fully come out so I actually agreed with the call. During class I was reading some of the comments from Charger fans and thinking it was a blatant bad call but then watching it when I got home all I could think is "man what the heck were they complaining about?"

2nd--Emmanuel Sanders is just taking this offense to a whole higher level than that of last year. No disrespect to that of Decker but he just didn't offer much to this offense beyond being a red zone target. Sanders is showing he can be that and so much more. Plus the guy just has amazing hands. I have seen about 7-10 catches of his this year that I just keep thinking "how in the world is he holding onto that football?"

3rd--defense did not play their best game but when you can hold a pretty darn good offense to 21 and consider that not your best game I think that just shows how dominant this group can be. Didn't quite get to Rivers as much as I would have liked but made him uncomfortable enough to force him into a couple of bad decisions. I'm betting Rivers when he has nightmares that the monster in his dream looks a lot like Chris Harris.

4th--Now I know some (myself included) have not always been the biggest fan of Fox or Del Rio for the playcalling and decision making that happens in game. I got to thinking though during this game how many undrafted and cast off players we have playing right now on this team at an amazingly high level. I mean Brandon Marshall was cut by the Jaguars of all team and then comes to our team and is a 3-down starting linebacker who just got done playing his best game by far and looking pretty darn good. Then we have Harris, Knighton, Austin, and many others who have just gone crazy on this league. Now as bad as Fox and company can be during the game I think the strength of what they do is in the coaching during the week. These players don't become the players they are without some great coaching to maximize the talent. So to me I honestly am loving the coaching we have on this team. Heck even in the last couple of games we have been aggressive to really close out games...such as throwing on 3rd and 4 with under 5 minutes to go in the game up by 2 touchdowns. A couple of years ago I think that is a run call by the coaches.

Finally--This has to get talked about in our run game is looking better and better with each passing week. It is not like we have played some scrub defenses either in doing this but Ronnie Hillman I am eating some major crow right now and loving it! That dude just looks more confident by the week and is just burning by guys. Heck he has times where there is no hole but has the speed to get outside and beat guys to the corner to turn a negative play into a 7-yard gain. Plus have to love that with a few minutes left in the game our run game even though they knew we were going to run it still found a way to pick up some very positive yards. This is exactly what we talked about in the off season of being able to run it even when the defense knows we are going to. This type of game has to have the rest of the league taking notice wondering how the heck they are going to stop this offense and score on this defense.

Sorry just a bit pumped up from that one. Honestly don't think the game should have been that close. Final score did not give an accurate showing of just how dominant I thought we looked.

Some cool stories coming out of last night...Chris Harris' wife went into labor during the game and for the first part of the game Harris was distracted. Harris said he went to coach Fox and apologized for not having his A game and told him he would make a play. Not long after Harris goes and get's his pick. So even on Harris' "off night" the guy still played like a top-5 Corner in the league. I am really really hoping that we resign this guy. I know it is not usually wise to have 2 corners making premium money but I just don't see how you let a guy that is truly playing top-5 for his position walk to another team.

Cornick looked much better in his 2nd game. His pass blocking was very much improved and actually according to PFF he was our best pass blocking OL player last night. So maybe this switch wasn't just to wake up Chris Clark but maybe Cornick is just actually outplaying him. Part of me wishes they would give Schofield a chance at the RT spot and see what he can do as I do think he can handle the speed rushers much better than Cornick but hey why try to fix something that right now doesn't look like it is broke.

D. Thomas actually got in on the record breaking last night breaking Rod Smith's record of consecutive 100 yard games. DT now owns the record alone.

Emmanuel Sanders is only 106 yards away from his career best in yards for a season...I'm thinking he stands a pretty darn good chance of breaking that.

Brandon Marshall has steadily shown great improvement with every passing week according to PFF. His run defense has stayed pretty similar throughout but he is beginning to shine in pass coverage. Man I cannot wait to see what happens when him and Trevathan are on the field at the same time later in the season.

Those are good stories. Love what this team is doing!

Anyone know what was going on between Fox and Rahim Moore after his interception? It looked confrontational at first and then they laughed and hugged. Probably some jokes being thrown?

I heard on the radio this morning that Rahim said it was all good. Fox said something like "that's what we want you to do" and Rahim said "that's what you drafted me for!" Looked bad but apparently it wasn't confrontational at all.

Not sure how much the camera showed as I haven't watched the game yet but he was very animated and not happy last night.

He was onscreen a lot last night. The best was when he went to the sideline and started yelling into his helmet.

He was off the charts last night. He was making plays left and right. By far his best game as a pro

The good; Just about everything. Cornick looked good as did the rest of the O-Line. Hillman IMO is the unquestioned #1 RB he played well and found the holes. There was much better coverage in the defensive backfield than earlier in the season. Front 7 depth is as deep as it's been since the SB years.

The Bad; Pretty minor stuff. McManus missed another FG. I'm getting a bit concerned. I think all have been misses to the left. My Boy Moore and Ward both made a couple of plays where they took terrible angles and could have either put a good shot on WR's or maybe even intercepted the ball. While Caldwell had a nice return he played pretty poorly and was within a whisker of a huge momentum fumble, he has had several drops this season. DT dropped a couple of 1st downs. I think the D gave up 3 third and long plays including a 3rd and 20 where Carter made a bone headed play.

The Ugly; To any player in the front 7 on defense, for goodness sake please please please quit dancing. We have great fans but two complaints, come back from halftime before the first half of the third quarter is gone. The place was empty the first 5 or 6 minutes of the 3rd. Shut up when Manning is on the field. Typically we have smart fans but it was definitely the loudest I can remember when the offense was on the field. To the scoreboard operator, I think Manning has a job over at Papa Murphy's for you.

Overall the Broncos are playing really good football and I'm excited to see the NE game. If the Broncos keep playing like this they're going to be very tough to beat.

When it happened, I could not understand why Nantz and Simms were saying it looked bad. I clearly saw Rahim more say "That's what you drafted me for"......

Chargers fans and Seahawks fans, too. Considering the Super Bowl win and the OT in Seattle earlier this year, I am at a loss to understand why they post so much Broncos-hate these days. It is a fact the Broncos remain a vastly superior franchise as a whole, and even a one-sided Super Bowl win doesn't change that.

I have to admit one thing. I am enjoying the melt down from Chargers fans. I lived in San Diego during the Chargers short ride atop the division. This was a pretty lean period for the Broncos. Chargers fans, many of whom could not tell you who Dan Fouts or Don Coryell were, proved to be some of the most insufferable creatures in sports realm existence. First tier dick wads. The Broncos burned through some serious injuries in this period and at the first sign of a Broncos fan discussing an injury (not making excuses, but discussing in the context of the impact on the team) Chargers fans would pipe and say "no excuses." Any calls that went their way they would pounce on any fan who so much as hinted displeasure with the officiating. They are a bunch of whining crybabies right now over the two "turnovers" one being ruled down the other negated by a flag.

Suck it, Chargers fans. 2014 will end the same way EVERY other NFL season has: Chargers not winning the Super Bowl.

Part of the reason I like reading the general board is for moments like this. The chargers went from division leader and power house to "what the hell is happening?" The seahawk fans, who would not acknowledge our missing starters last year, are now toting the injuries shield like they are the only team that is a little banged up.

Not limiting it to those two teams. It is always fun to watch a team build up some massive steam only to collapse. Even the broncos have done it, a lot, and I am sure other fans enjoyed it.

We shall see how things play out this season. I still think the chargers and seahawks are too good to go quietly. They will get through the stumble and make noise again.

I'm not convinced. Chargers feasted off of mediocre competition recently. Now that their schedule has more meat, we are starting to see that team for what it truly is..... third best in the AFC West.

Yeah I saw a stat the other day that said before our game with the Chargers they had the 24th easiest schedule up to this point in the season. Our game and the remaining schedule is considered the 2nd toughest in the NFL so they definitely have a tough road ahead. Of the Chargers and the Seahawks though I have more trust in the Chargers to make the playoffs than I do the Seahawks. I think the Wild Card for the NFC is going to take at least 10 wins once again and I just really hope that the Cardinals keep rolling as it is fun to see the forgotten team in that division that everybody thought was just going to dominate every non-divisional game this year go out and be the talk of the town.

I do remember the Chargers "Good" years and being on the ESPN board some. They definitely all of a sudden came out of the wood work and were saying they had been fans for years yet like you said had no clue who some of the biggest names in franchise history were. Now we are seeing it with especially a lot of the younger fans latching onto the Seahawks and saying they have been fans forever. Some seem to forget there was an NFL longer than the last 5 years.

Anyway still loving the victory today! Going to be fun to just sit back and relax and get to watch everybody else play for their playoff lives. Any certain game you guys are interested in? I'm definitely going to be watching the Bears/Patriots game. Not only because they are our opponent next week but really either way that game is a win/win to me. Either get the chance to watch Cutler once again show why getting rid of him was a good decision or pick up another game in the standings over the Patriots. Plus this is one of those games I just don't know what to think of either team. They both have quite a bit of talent on both sides of the ball yet it just doesn't seem to show up.

CD, I'll be watching the Rams/Chiefs mainly because the Chiefs have perked up and are suddenly in the AFC West discussion again.

I was on the CBS boards at the time of the Chargers run atop the AFC West. Those fans were insufferable. I also was at a mall having lunch back in the playoffs for the 2007 season. The 11-5 Chargers were hosting the Titans in the Wild Card round of the playoffs and the game was in jeopardy of being blacked out on the local market. I questioned how good a teams fans are if a playoff game is a threat for a blackout! While at the mall I couldn't help but noticed how many "Chargers fans" were there. People in jerseys, t-shirts, hats, etc. They were everywhere. The game started while we were there. I overheard a girl right after kickoff telling a friend she wouldn't dream of missing a snap of Chargers football. I told her she just did and she called me a liar.

Chargers fans are...funny people. Every once in a while you run into a good one, but I'd consider that as seldom an occurrence as an honest politician.
