We've been trying to get jake for such a long time. Like, basically since he got drafted. We've always really liked him and were scouting him from the age of 15. We tried to get him this offseason before we traded kinsler. Its great to have him back home.

Guys, this is a kid who is gonna be a solid number 2. I'm tellin you, this is a GOOD pickup for soria.

Good ol country boy built like a linebacker. Imposing presence on the mound. Has a 91-93 mph fastball that runs literally 6 inches and a ++ slider. Also has an average change up that is projected to be plus in a couple of years. I'm so pumped for this

I sent his dad a text, still waiting for a response. He will more then likely start in high A. I guess there's a small chance he could go to frisco though. I just think that frisco has all the SP's they can handle, and he wasn't even in AA with the tigers yet

I dont know anything about knebel. Just JT. He immediately becomes our best pitcher in our farm though FYI guys. Yes, better than LJ. But likely farther away.

If I'm correct, I believe Knebel is a fully developed arm (he's only 22, but people think he's about done growing and filling in). In fact, I think he actually got a couple of big league innings already. Projects to be a bullpen arm.

I watched him pitch as a senior in rockwall. He was awesome, the best player on the team when they won the state championship. Been following him in the minors, he has been playing well at each level.

He's a reliever, 22. In A ball last year had a .86 ERA. Between AA and AAA this year he has a 1.62 ERA with a WHIP of .930.


Between him, Klein, and Mendez we might have found some bullpen arms for next year.

Him and Jovan Hernandez (who I think got in trouble or something, but was once highly touted) made Rockwall Heath one of the best high school teams I've ever witnessed. Jake, although sometimes a bit cocky, is the type of guy who doesnt ever get rattled. Like, I bet they could start him tomorrow in the big leagues and he wouldnt walk one dude. He doesnt have the mindset of "Wow, I can't believe im here." He has the mindset of "I fucking belong here."

He actually made one start in AA this year. Pitched 6 innings, gave up 2 ER.

@TepidP: Knebel has a closer's ceiling. Late-inning stuff/makeup. Thompson is a MORP for most, ceiling wise. Hope he joins Frisco, but MB is possible
