thanks.....and I was one huge fan of the Norman OK native......James Garner.

He was up in the booth one night at the old stadium with Eddie Childs. And people started throwing stuff up and he'd sign it and toss it down.

It turned into a near riot. Funny as hell. Great memory for me.

Does Smolinski go down on that back knee with most swings or just the ones where he is reaching for pitches?

He does that often. This is why I said him and Choice have similar swings. Choice does that exact swing on outside pitches. I couldn't think of how to explain it.

I mean honestly.....we EARNED this one.

No lucky bounces, missed signals, etc......solid baseball night; overall.

And how about the outing for Mikolas? Don't ya know he's on cloud 9 right about now? Well he should be too. He earned the win, and showed a mountain of fortitude in the process.

Note of interest. Soto left the game with an injury. And Chirino steps in without missing a lick. Great to have that depth

It is unlike when Beltre goes to a knee swinging for the fence, and it doesn't seem like it would aid in his swing but whatever works I guess.

At this point, I honestly feel like we're all living out a Rangers version of the movie Major League:

Cafe patron: [Reading roster] Jake Smolinski? Dan Robertson? I never heard of most of these guys. Miles Mikolas?
[Cuts to construction site]

Construction worker: Who are these fucking guys?
[Cuts to groundskeepers]

Groundskeeper #1: [In Japanese] They are shitty.
Groundskeeper #2: Hai

Good for Miles Mikolas. While I think pitchers wins are pointless, it still is a nice moment for he and his family.

Plus Chirinos is Arb eligible in 2016 and not a FA until 2019, may be the guy that steps in when or if Soto leaves in FA after this year

Good win for Miles and while we all have seen some poor defense put our pitching staff in bad positions lots of times this year, the DP started by Odor and turned by Elvis was huge in this one for Mik

“I made a bad decision,” Choo said of coming back from his April 21 sprained ankle within 10 days. “I was more aggressive, maybe, than I should have been. But I want to play the whole year. I want to push through.”

When Choo suffered the injury, the Rangers were already dealing with a rash of injuries. Choo agreed to bypass the DL at the time to try and keep some semblance of offense in the lineup. The ankle, however, has not gotten significantly better, and Choo’s performance has gotten significantly worse. He went into Monday in an 0-for-21 slump and hitting just .215 since the injury.

This fits perfectly here...
